Just thought I would give you guys a quick update on my Zook, after serious SPOA woes I went to coils using the Rocky-Road kit, turned out allright I think

Got myself some Simex Extremes at the same time and ARB's F+R.

What do you reckon?

In a coil setup what limits drop? Surely that is the shock absorber?

I just ordered the Rocky Road coil kit. Hopefully be fitting it to my zook before xmas - will let you know how it goes. Luckily the laws over here are slightly less strict and no-one really knows about them anyway. :D

Ok this is handy. Over here in the UK adding longer shackles is a common way to lift zooks on standard springs but its kinda frowned upon for altering castor angles and ruining springs. All I was thinking is on SPOA with flexy springs would a shackle say 3/4" longer improve flex/spring life or make ...

Cheers guys that has confirmed my fears about the missing links. Ok so its bye bye to the shackles, I orginally bought them to cure a lack of flex when my truck was SPUA and had exceptionally hard springs. When I went to SPOA with flexy springs I thought what the hell and threw them on anyway ...

SPOA Springs

Hi Could I ask for some information, I have bent my front springs on my SPOA Samurai and the rears don’t look particularly happy either. Are there any springs that will hold up to SPOA properly or am I likely to have this problem with all the ones I get for my truck? I have a traction bar, cor ...

I got the tyres from www.sowdentyres.co.uk who is a really helpful chap but I doubt it would be cost effective to ship them to OZ, but they are made in the colway factory so I imagine you can get them from any colway distributor. Another place to try would be www.tyresdirect.uk.com but again this is ...

Dude as long as you are ok the rest is just metal and a bit of pride.

That said I know how frustrating things like that are - hope you get it all sorted.

My zook is "kinda" road legal - it passed an MOT test which is a standard test accross all vehicles to test roadworthiness but that in itself doens't mean its road legal. It has all the lights/identifications you need to be road legal - the only real question is the tyres sticking out too far and ...

I guess this will wind you up then - those tyres are available for about £50 over here so typing that into an internet currency converter means they are about $117 of you dollars? Thats cheap to me??? They are 32" tall but are 16" rim diameter meaning there are limited rims - I'm using the ones f ...

Hi, I'm sort of experimenting with most of this stuff, there aren't anywhere near as many products available over here for Samurai's as everyone is more into thier Land Rovers. The shackles are pretty big I agree but they seem to work a bit at least. I do have a traction bar - pics below. I have ...

How far can leaves bend the wrong way?

Hi guys, I have SPOA and Ironman springs, I get a nice amount of flex but I'm worried about the springs. Here is a pic, is this ok or do you think I will warp them fairly quickly, this is the front but the rear is almost worse!

I use these shafts on my Zook in the UK and they have been great - the front doesnt seem to be too well balanced so I'm going to get the old jubilee clips soon. Loasd of travel on the UJ's and a nice long slip yoke too.

Good quality.

Anyone know what the part number for the Safari Snorkel that Rocky Road sell: http://www.rocky-road.com/zuksnorkle.html They say its only available through them, but I suspect if you knew the part number you could order it from any Safari distributor. I had a look against some of the other models ...

The engine is just a 1.3 Suzuki but its lightened, balanced, ported and polished head, janspeed exhaust and SU carb (did have a Weber but kept cutting outt off road) goes like stink tho. The tyres are like mini-boggers huh? - thats why I got them, they are called Anacondas, they are remoulds made in ...
