now comparing the 2 is hard but can i expect to take the vitara the same places as the sierra reliably ? how stable is a vitara compared to a sierra? I went from a SWB Sierra to a LWB auto Vit set up nearly exactly how you described. I can honestly say I take the Vit everywhere I went in the Sierra ...

I am looking at upgrading my recovery points on my Vitara.
I have been suggested a company called Outdoor Ideas based in Melbourne.
Does anyone know a website address I can have a look at their products?
Google does not seem to come up with much on them
Cheers.

I have inherited Calmini suspension when I bought my Vit. My question to anyone with this suspension is... Is the plate that attaches the lower ball joint to the control arm supposed to be underneath (as in the pic) or on top of the arm? http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j194/DSzuke/IMG_3086.jpg ...

this may not help you but... I am running standard GV coils in the front of mine. ('93 LWB Vit) I was hoping for a bit of lift but got none (b'bar, winch, batts + everything else doesn't help) so have added some spacers. I have been considering a similar scenario as that thread but I would like to ...

Has anyone had to find replacnments? I am thinking I'll have to measure up and start searching... :lol ...

Hey Squik.... I need to install one too. They seem to be about $160 or so and come with all the mounting stuff you need. By all accounts it is pretty easy to do. What I was wondering was... (I don't know if you've given it any thought) Is it worth installing a temperature sensor so you know how hot ...

In my 1.6 lwb with bar, etc. before I swapped it to the Calmini suspension I had OME struts (kept them for the Calmini kit too) and shocks and heavy springs with 20mm coil spacers and camber bolts and it was fine. cj... I assume from this you are running OME heavy springs with the Calmini kit or ...

you need to go to the RTA and ask them to classify it as a "convertable"... this is not always easy but in my experience if you go to a few different braches and ask different people you will eventually find someone who goes "no problem" :) you might get knocked back a few times but just play dumb ...

Thanks Toecutta...
I am tossing up between the two models (XL-7 and the New GV). I don't need a hardcore car (I have another Zook for that) so off-road ability isn't top on the priority list.
I might take the camping fridge to the dealer and see how it fits
