IFS 100 series CV upgrade?

A friend has just lunched a CV. It's an IFS 100s with a pair of ARBs. Q1 - Is there a recommended upgrade CV? I have heard of Longfield but have also heard of accelerated wear issues with these. Q2 - Should he even go down this road? Do the ARBs support the CW&P enough or would he be better off ...

ratio swap

- with 4.1's or even 4.7's diffs from a Series 3 the crawl ratio will be outstanding (63:1). Not that 48:1 is bad - better than most if not all stock crawl ratios. Will need to swap the high range gears in the LT95 transfer with some from a RR or diesel county to get some reasonable road gearing ...

I have the same fears RR but people are touting $2/L for petrol/diesel in the very near future. we're ...

Definitely worthwhile for daily driver and in summer I usually used just the hatch to keep the sun off but back canopy off to keep it's open feel. u can just carry the front hatch tossed in ...

[quote="Gwagensteve"]If you choose 30's, shoot for off the shelf springs (I too vote OME Dakar) OME shocks and leave it at that. some carful work flattening out some seams and trimming the braket that the front bumper bolt to etc and 30's should be fine. don't get too influenced by some of the ...

the G15's are more capable of more rev's than the G16's due to the shorter stroke and G16's have a tendency to throw conrods after 8000rpm G15's keep on goin hard  Which is also why 1.6s have a nicer torque curve than 1.3 or 1.5. It's not necessarily the increase in displacement that does it ...

an ecotec weighs in at 195kg. at least twice as much as the g13. enough reason for me to think itd be less than perfect. it's not an ecotec engine, it's just a normal vn v6 motor. Power to weight ratio 1.3 Vs 3.8 No comparison I don't think the extra weight is a huge factor considering the power ...
