Pretty sure transfer is either ATF or 80w90. Front diff is 80w90 and rear diff is 85w140 LSD. Not 100% on gearbox, think I used the penrite 75w85 last time.

Re: 2002 Patrol GU ST UTE ADVICE

Regarding the cracking, it's common on the GU's for the rear coil hats to crack away from the chassis, often pulling a section of the chassis with them. If it's been repaired and braced properly then it should be better than new but I'd e checking it out pretty closely. Other than that, the 4.2 GU's ...

Re: Best work horse/tow ute

Rob, I'd definitely say go a 79 Cruiser ute with the TDV8 if you can stretch to it. They really are fantastic to drive and tow 3T easily. Also hold their resale very well as I'm sure you know come end of the lease. Otherwise I think any of the dual cab utes out will do the job if you're only towing ...

My votes with the shorty GQ Patrol as well. GQ's are great value for money, comfortable and reliable and if you find a diesel will be quite good on fuel. Second choice would be a pajero or perhaps vitara.

Rocky's and ferozas are ok as well but harder to find parts for and not as much aftermarket ...

Wizard make pin to eye converters for the top mount on the front of patrols which bolts on in place of the OEM tower.

Just out of interest to some, I got a quote in Brisbane for a full set of bolt on King 2.5's for around $3200. Wizard were talking of also getting some 2.5 Fox Remotes with Nissan ...

I did get some good responses on the Patrol 4x4 forum on this one if anyone wants to check it out. Not sure what the valving is though ...

Koni Vs Bilstein Vs Fox

G’day all,

Have had a search and in general people seem very happy with the performance of Koni’s and Bilsteins but there isn’t much talk of how Fox’s perform. I realise they’re not very common over here yet but with the Aussie $ at the moment I can get a set of 2.0 remote reservoirs landed from ...

Would also recommend Mike Topfer at On and Offroad ...

Electric brakes for camper - drum or disc?

Hi all,

Yeh but it was cheap enough and buying one is easy. I know Kaymar do one as well but haven't seen the design and I was quoted $179 from ARB which is ridiculous. Haven't phoned Hobzee no, was just seeing if there's a simple fix first as I thought these were pretty common.

Hi Lift Jack Mount on GU Spare Wheel

What brackets have people used to mount a hi lift on the spare tyre on a GU patrol? I bought the TigerzII one off Hobzee which will fit the stud pattern of the patrol but won't fit coz of the lip on the factory carrier that the spare wheel supports itself on. Has anyone modified one of Hobzee's ...

Haven't been real happy with mine since I bought it. 135k on the clock, 2" lift, 265/75's and its a wagon. Nearly always unladen and my average since purchase is 14.4L/100km but that is mainly urban. Yes, lowering your tyre pressures will make a big difference offroad and also with your rut issue. 20psi should be good depending on what size tyre you're running.
