I've been trying to locate a tail light/turn signal cluster (fitted in LHS bumper) for my GU III, to no avail.

I thought it would be a pretty common part, but none of the auto parts recyclers I've contacted have been able to help. I've contacted wreckers in Queensland, Victoria, ACT, etc ...

Can anyone recommend a place in Canberra to do a reduction gear installation on a GU?

I replaced the 10A hazard light fuse (under bonnet) for a 15A fuse, and it works

aaah, ok, that could well be it then, given I have additional indicators on bull bar and in the main light cluster in the rear. I'll have a look under the bonnet when i get a chance.

Hi,

I just noticed my hazards/flashers are not working. I'm thinking it may have something to do with a towbar I had fitted recently.

I have checked all the fuses, which seem to be ok. The indicators work fine. It's just the hazards which aren't working...

any help would be appreciated.

I just greased up all the contact points...doesn't stop any of the movement, but irradicates the noise

Can anyone enlighten me (excuse the pun) as to the adr regulations for driving lights, i.e. how many forward facing lights are allowed? If additional lights are covered for onroad use, are they still illegal?

I have googled for this info, with no luck.

My brother has recently bought an x-trail, so we were also looking to put a small lift in, primarily to fit some more aggressive AT's. I thought it would just be a matter of putting in longer springs and shocks...any info you manage to dig up would be appreciated.

Sorry but you have a GU III 4.8 and you dont want to spend $150. You have no tools and you will probably put yourself in danger.

i was hoping that i could just compress the spring enough to slip the spacer in ontop of the coil, but there is that big ass bump stop in the way ... i gather that means that i need to remove the spring completely??

You could be right, but so far i haven't found anywhere that will do it for that price. I was quoted around $150 mark...anyone know of a cheaper place in melb??

gu4800, i'm interested to know what parts you used. I had trouble finding wedge globe holders at a reasonable price, so I have settled for Narva bayonet globes and holders (Total cost was $14 ).

Stupid question...

I'm wiring up the dummy lights in my GU, and was wondering which filament, in the dual filament (21/5W) globe should be used for stop, and which for tail. I'm guessing 21W filament is for stop, and 5W filament wired to tail light...
