I've seen that reinforcement done before. An old mate of mine tore and engine mount and pinched some straglehold banding stuff (like a length of straightened jubilee clip) from work. Wound it on and tightened it up for a "quick fix" and it went for another two years like that! What a tight arse. :D ...

Got a set shipped from MRT to England, had them on since last December.
Some reports floating about from people in the US (I think) that cracks have appeared on some sets.
Nothing untoward showing on mine so far, and the welds look of good standard.
Noticable gains in conjunction with a K&N, old ...

The links in the FAQ appear to be dead, and the search aint working for me.
So, can anyone tell me which order the bits for the top mount on Pro Comp ES3000's fit?
In the box I have:- shocks x2, boots x2, small metal tubes x4, rubber bushes x4 and stamped washers x4.
Any advice appreciated.

Seen that vid before. I can't beleive these retards think it's impressive enough to stick on the web.
Our local airsoft site has an FV432 armoured personnel carrier, and the nearby garage donates scrappers for use to wreck and run over with the APC, now that's more like fun with cars!

I'm in the UK but if you pay the postage it's yours buckshee.
Let me know if you need a shipping price.

Fair enough, although I was asking if anyone wanted pics not asking about swaybar removal cos I know what happens now I've done it.
I kind of half had in mind the FAQ thread regarding pics cos this thread will most likely end up residing there for reference.
Anyhow, water under the bridge, sorry for ...

I've tried an experiment with mine on the road. Basically removed the swaybar and drove to a nearby park away from the traffic.
Did some aggressive swerve manouvers to assess stability, christ that was scary - damn near spun the bugger!
Went home, re-attached the swaybar and off again to the ...

My shackle bushes are shagged too, it creaks and groans like an Astmatic Donkey over ruff stuff!

I'm curing mine by fitting new bushes (and new longer shackles - lift = YAY!)
Have you checked the heat shield on the cat for rattles? (if yours has a cat). Just a thought.

Yes it was looked at, a new valve compression tool had to be ordered by the garage and their supplier has pissed them about a lot so the valve stem work was on hold.
In the meantime things have just got a lot worse, thankfully I was only 2 miles from home and not halfway up a big hill at the time ...

Hello all, me again.
Sprotrak engine is stuffed good and proper now.
Long story short, I was driving home on the highway when suddenly the engine lost nearly all power and I had to limp it home with seroius vibration through the whole car.
It's in the garage now, on initial tests there is no ...

FFS Mac, my keyboard's now swimming in spat out coffee after looking at that pic!!
Kinda reminds me of a bloke I worked with way back.
Anyway, pretty standard 96 ELXi with K&N, MRT extractors, Colway 235/75 AT's and a thirst for oil at the mo'
I do have a mate with some shackles he's ...

Very nice workmanship on the old Sporty fabs mate. Good to see another
Sportrak owner in the UK who actually likes using it the way it was meant
to be used.
Useful to see your a pro grease monkey, I may well be tapping you up for help / mods someday. ;)
Keep up the good work and the pics ...

Did the hill run thing today with a mate tailing to check smoke, and he reported a very light puff of 'greyish' smoke on the gear change and throttle. No blue cloud apparently.
Been and had a word at the garage, he said it's more than likely valve stem oil seals past their best, he's worked on a ...

Thanks Chev, I'll try the overrun then flog technique. I've never noticed any blue smoke so far, just black smoke when I got the missus to scream the b*llocks out of it on the drive while I checked at the rear.
Maybe that's just down to overfuelling at high revs?
Btw when I took the sparkies out ...

Did a dry compression check today and got 15.0, 14.5, 14.5, 14.5 bar on cylinders 1 to 4 respectively. Added a small amount of oil to each to do the wet comparison and stuffed the compression gauge completely, not to mention spat oil all over the underside of the bonnet! :bad-words:
So not much ...

Doh!! Silly me forgot it was the charade motor, was a bit pissed last time I was on the board.
Anyway, I dont want the hassle or expense of having that motor + loom to go in, also the extra horsepower would tempt me to razz the b*llocks out of it and end up breaking something else. :D ...

Cheers guys, I'll pick up a compression tester and see what that says.
Hoping it's worn valve stems only cos that would just be a head rebuild and not splitting the lump apart to get the pistons out (big $$$ here in uk).

Hiya fellas,
Getting a little concerned about my beloved Sportrak's motor.
I've noticed over the last few weeks it seems to be using oil like billy-o, every tankfull of gas 200 to 250 miles - ish sees the oil disappear from full to below min on the dip stick.
There is a very minor leak on the ...

Hi all,
I've had 235/75 15's fitted which I think are near as dammit 30" - with no lift. The bolts on the mudflaps were close but not rubbing, I just bent the mudflap bracket backwards away from the tyres carefully to give adequate clearance, job done.
