Problem: When flicking to highbeam, it would seem that im getting a dull "HiBeam" whilst "LowBeam" is staying on. Also when this happens, the blue dash like will not come on. Yeah i was just curious with the defenders as there were really nothing on car sales. Just was wanted to get a feel for prices and what different year models were going for. Was unable to really find any apart from new ones, hence my curiosity.

Thought this would have been covered in depth, but couldnt find what i was after... Whos put a new seat into their old cruiser (60) Mines pretty much destroyed, so was looking for something a little newer and perhaps a bit more fancy to replace it with.

My dad has an old petrol rocky, think it was an '85. Anyways, took the clutch plate without taking too much notice, and now unsure which direction the new one goes back in... One side has a bigger lip than the other side, and also the springs stick out further this side... Looking at a manual online ...

do that reg like you are saying, warning light is controlled by your external reg. is fairly cheap for a new one too. dont stuff around with a 2nd hand one. the other thing to consider is, have you jump started another vehicle arse up (connected jump leads incorrect). if this is the case the ...

ok, well decided tonight to test glowplug resistance... First five plugs, 0.00, the final one, the one closest to the firewall that has the arm attached to it (arm was not attached when testing) showed a resistance of 1.3... So, great, thats buggered i thought, so i unscrewed it to check it out ...

Have had a few problems with charging of battery, where it seems that at times the volts to the battery are up around 14, but at idle and and with low beam lights on, can be as low as 12.6... Have checked brushes in alternator, seem fine, next step was to replace regulator (external). Im not so good ...

Ill check that out.. Mines just ticked over 410,000kms, and yeah, runs ok, probably down on power, but i just think thats the beauty of driving a 2H...

Turbo would be nice, but ill save tha for my next 4by when this one rusts to the ground..

I never really noticed that it uses much oil... By looking at your pictures, my plugs really dont look right do they...

Ok, well, i started thinking about glowplugs, and took out the first one to have a look, tested it using two bits of wire and the battery, looked ok, then once i had put it back in i looked along the rail and seen the rear glowplug. ok, found this in another section. Seems it could apply to me, as it did seem to start a lot rougher on cold mornings... Tested my glow plugs on the weekend and found that one was fubarred. replaced it with a Bosch unit ($15 repco) and she starts so much better now. previously it would blow a crap ...

yeah mate... white smoke, the kind that fills up the whole street... ok once its warmed up and running... but if its been sitting for about 8hrs, look out...

But yeah, no smoke at the moment cuz it wont even go... It tries to start, but yeah, wont fire...
