Re: PROTECTIVE SLEEVE - Over Dynamic winch rope

Greetings

I want to put a length (about 12 -15mtrs) of the orange protective sleeving over the first 12- 15 mtrs of my dynamic rope winch cable.

This will serve 2 purposes:

1) it will mean that the first layer (about 22 turns) of the dynamic rope will have a cover thus improving it's resistance ...

Hi lift jack,, you can buy a winch cable/chain kit that hooks up to that so that it acts as a winch to pull you in any direction.

And it also lifts you up.. - dangerous if you're NOT careful, be aware of the dangers and use it accordingly.... accidents do happen to the ...

Thanks all for your replies - I have read and considered them all

I have made the decision to go with the 85% mainly because I have a LOT of weight in my 3.0lt (weighs about 3,500kg all up) and I have 285 tyres so I like the notion of being able to 'crawl' both up and down hills without the need ...

Gearmastaer transfer case reduction gears 85%

Has anyone fitted the Marks4wd gearmaster transfer reduction gears 85% to a 3.0lt GU patrol?

If so what issues did you face with the install? I belive that you have to 'modify' the transfer case a little bit to enable the gears to go in (they are bigger than the stock gears)

What differences did ...

Don't mean to be negative or a smartarse, but if you have to wait 1/2 to 1 minute for the engine to stop before being able to lock-up, why have a turbo timer in the first place? That is why you get a turbo timer - so you can leave the car running, lock-up and walk away.

In NSW it is illegal to be able to lock your car with the engine still running via TT. That is why the 'default' for alarms is to wait for TT to stop engine. You only have to wait 0.5 or 1 min assumimg you have been driving in urban setting prior to needing to lock up

Just had a flash back

The other option is to add some paint colour and use it to stain your wooden fence.

This was a 'common thing' back in NZ a few years ago when diesel was about 38c/lt and febce stain was about $5 :-)

Take it to nearest Waste Management. I took 40lts of old engine oil (accumulation of last 4 changes) to the one in Old Widnsor Rd (Toongabbi) today. They will take old diesel too. Theres no charge so do the 'right thing'

If you can get hold of a copy of '4WD treks Close to Sydney' (currently out of production but I believe a new edition is due out within the month) go to page 65, trek#8.

This is a medium/hard trek with one section labelled 'Very steep' and it is :-)))

Rest of trek is good ...

If static when engine not running then it will be the installation and re-soldering connections etc will help

Think of the squelch as a gate. Open it right up and ALL the water comes through, close it and you hold a lot of water back and only let a trickle through. When the squelch is fully OPEN every noise or signal no matter how far away will be heard and is a pain in the earhole. Close the squekch up and ...
