Hiya fellas,
Is there a tool to strip the insulation from larger diameter cables, eg 8AWG and bigger? Something a bit safer and more accurate then a Stanley knife.
I have cable strippers for smaller diameter cable but a friend with very little experience wants a tool to strip the larger cables ...

Good evening ladies and gents,
I am building camp-area lighting using LEDs.
This weekend I was camping and using my headtorch discovered that the red coloured LEDs didn't attract the bugs unlike the white LEDs... either that or being red I couldn't see the bugs at all.
I think yellow LEDs doesn't ...

Hi Drivesafe,
With using thinner cable is there a risk of the cable heating up too much? I assume with increased voltage drop (compared to thicker cable, eg 6 AWG) and the same current there is more heat generated in the cable???

I just found my own answer:

This was confirmed when I called RTA technical just now.
Your tyres must have a speed rating above 140km/h. If the tyres are rated lower then your car speed rating then a small sticker must be affixed to the ...

Hi gurus,
I'm after some info on tyre speed ratings.
Do your tyres have to meet/exceed the factory specs for the speed rating?
Reason I ask is I'm after new tyres and my car's speed rating is "H" which is 210km/h. Now the only way my car would get even close to 210 is if I drove it off a cliff ...

As I haven't found any bubbling in the coolant or oil in the coolant or water in the oil can I discount a head gasket issue? What other checks can I do at home to check for a cracked head gasket? I don't have a compression tester nor can I do a leak down test.

200ml in 7 months is almost negligable but I'd say you have a very slight leak somewhere and you're not going to find it by looking for dried coolant. Get a pressure test done (surprised your Natrad guy didn't suggest it). As Chimpboy said, your overflow bottle can cope with the small amounts of ...

Hiya gurus,
I have a small problem with my colling system.
I had an Adrad (natrad) radiator installed on my Suzuki back in April this year due to a leak in my factory one. I also got my hoses replaced and the thermostat was deemed to be OK.
Since April I've had to add about 200ml of water as ...

Do you think it's feasible/safe to use cargo netting/webbing as a cargo barrier? I'm thinking of the seatbelt webbing not the bungee cord type netting.
Eg. http://www.cargogear.com/OneItemInfo.aspx?partnum=BNNETCSB
Using netting would be easier then a rigid barrier as in my case it's a temporary ...

Bendix are nearly twice the price of RDA/DBA.
However whilst I've read good reports of DBA/RDA rotors I also read not-so-good reports on their pads.
I just figure there has to more competition out there for general-use brake pads other then Bendix.

All of this is easily resolved by adding NADS and results in the engine preforming better as a added benefit.

I know ZD30's get a very bad rap in the Patrols, having been named the Grenade, but just why are they so bad?
I understand one of the big reasons is due to the MAF sensor being coated in oil and hence the ECU thinking it's running lean and hence leads to overfueling which leads to the turbo ...

They're good for when you're being shot at, like in Western Sydney. Solid tyres don't deflate. Plus tyre engineers don't care if grunts suffer from the lack of suspension from tyres.
