Series 2 (A)? workshop manual

Whilst having a clean out, I have found what looks to be an ancient workshop manual for a series 2. My father had one in the early 80's and I would say that is was his. The landy has since long gone.

If anyone is interested in it they can have it.

Have a look at http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/forum. Heaps of conversion info there, and I think there were a couple of 2nd hand motors for sale as well.

92 Hilux 4 runner xfer case - gear driven??

I have to get a xfer case from an auto for my v8 upgrade in my surf (I have a manual and it won't work). I have found what looks to be a good one, but it has oil cooling lines coming off the back of it, mine has all the ADD stuff hanging off from where the oil lines seem to be coming from. Does ...

The 2L-TE is one of the only diesels that I know of that have a butterfly arrangement in the intake. ou can make a BOV work in a non-butterfly setup but it is a lot harder and doesn't really make any difference. The BOV is mainly there to stop turbo stall, which can happen on the surf when running ...

I have done the blowoff valve on the surf trick. I hav mine open ay 12psi and u would be supprised how often it opens.

Make sure that U plumb it into the boost sensor line , and U will also have to put a softer spring in the valve as well. Ones for petrol cars are too heavy.

Did U get that one off Ebay??, I was looking at one the same.

It should be a simple matter of checking the poppet valves in the head.

It looks as tho it would be slow to pump up as it seems to be a single stage unit..

Welcome to the broken diff club. I did mine last year, 16 teeth off the crown wheel, and 2 broken spider gears.

While it is apart, look at getting a diff lock installed, either auto or manual/air.

Made the world of difference to mine.

This has been beaten to death on the surf site, but. I would be changing the complete auto trans including the torque converter, because it can't be the motor as u have rebuilt and changed that. I would also try taking the handbrake off, Also have a look at getting the rear brakes checked in case ...
