I have a couple of Toyota's, none of which have had any issues I would consider Toyota's fault.

Vehicles are 73 x 2, 75, 80 and a 100.

All have perfectly fine operating handbrakes.

Perhaps it comes from a good maintenance history.

What issues are you actually having?

Red Devil at Oxenford Gold Coast were really price competitive when I bought mine.

It was $330, try them or perhaps any red devil, Brass/copper one, not plastic

I was surprised they were so reasonably priced, as previous experience with them wasn't so nice :)

they are a great motor. if on gas watch out for overheating, or smoke on startup/running (particually cold starting) check if there's been any head work done. also check if the petrol system works proper too, if you think you will ever run it on petrol. It can be expensive and tricky to fix. Smoke ...

FM Radio interference from Fan

HI All,

Recently my fan has started to interfere with the FM radio in my FJ73.

It Is definitely the fan, as with the fan off the radios crystal clear.

When its on I can hear a static type noise on the radio.

Could someone give me a tip as to where to start looking?

Regards
Matthew

I took a stab in the dark and replaced the sensor.

It seems to work fine, engine was warmish, swapped it over, and it reads normal temp.

I think the old one just died a nasty death rather quickly.

Thanks for your help

Faulty Temp sender unit?

Hi Guys

I have a '85 FJ73 landcruiser

Shortly after starting the car, and driving all of 10 mins the temp gauge hit the top and stayed there.

I stopped and checked the radiator and it was warm but not boiling hot.

Would this be normal behavior for a faulty temp sender unit?

you will need to look at the bar fridge and see its wattage or how many amps it will draw then go from there. May need to increase the wattage on the back of the fridge ~40% to allow for start up current surge when you are looking at inverter specs. So say it says 80watts , does this mean I + 40 ...

PFJ,

I have a 85 model, and I just changed over to a late 90's model steering wheel off a 75 series.

Its quite a bit smaller, dont know if its 'sporty' enough for you?

certainly looks less like a tractor or bus drivers wheel :)
