I'm currently running a T2 and think that it's the best way to go.
I've had a few other set ups and driven heaps of others (switzer, factory surf set up, T3/4 hybrid & mitsubitshi turbo). They are all fine to drive and easy to fit but don't quite give you the power range of the T2. It spools up ...

Re: 1.6 vitara carby motor into sierra info

I am after information on putting a 1.6 carby motor in my zook. I already have the motor just sitting around and i would prefer to keep it carby as it will be cheaper and an easier conversion

So i have a few questions.

1.will this be worth the effort for the power gain?

2.the 1.6 litre engine ...

yeah I did the swap on my old 1.6 carby vit donk in my sierra. It was a straight bolt up practically, and I just changed the plug on the alternator, and all was good. I left the extra wide pully on the alternator, cause the vit donk is only a 4 rib wide or something like that?

Yeah mate ive seen a 4age to toyota 4 speed box in a sierra with out the transfer moved back and it was just a uni joint between the pair. Being unbalanced it vibrated from about 75k onwards, took a fair beating though and still survived.

Thats it mate, at the end of the day its what you want go for it. I have a big lift to run big tyres. If you can drive what you want to drive on a smaller lift and smaller tyres then go for it. Its entirely up to you. I just like the advantage of a big lift.

you can only get as much flex as the wheel can go before it hits the guards. mine flexes to full travel without touching.

Ok then bogged fair call you have squeezed 36's in under minimal lift. Yes your COG would be lower than mine but at least ive got articualation to the max to play with? I live in Tassie so yes i do endure side leans, yes it can be scary at times but ive yet to put it over.

All these people who say 4 inch lift and 36's are tugging too hard. Ive got 6 inch coils rear and 7's front and 30mm body lift in my gu and run 36" pedes on only 8 inch rims, no swaybars. Yeah it sways around but you learn to drive by it. If you wanted something to ...
