Fuel Gauge Sender Unit

Hey All,

Ever since I dropped the LR tank in, could never get the sender unit to work properly, as the unit wasn't suited to the depth of the tank, and it also kept catching on one of the baffles for some reason. I've managed to make do and just use km's as an indication of fuel level since the ...

Yeh I would be careful taking it to 5000rpm, those things hate being revved the crap out of (and you don't have no power up there anyway)

Mine no longer works so I am going to buy the std oil pressure sender(as the gauge senders are at least $90) and use the light on the dash to tell me low oil pressure.
As std the light on the dash does not work ! You have to rely on the pressure gauge !

Eek! I didn't know that! Cookie can you ...

You need a manual boost controller and boost gauge. Although I fitted mine myself, I suggest you leave it to the experts to fit and tune. If you feed it too much boost ...

I have a 2.5" system (dump-back) fitted to my 2.8td, with a small straight through muffler at the rear. Ideally, you should have a new dump pipe made to reap the full rewards. Didn't notice much of a difference in performance, and the noise level is fine. For $250 I can't complain.

Hi cookie,

I have just fitted a new set of 2" Lovell HD coils to the rear of mine. The only complaint I have so far is bottoming out over large bumps with a fully laden vehicle. I'm interested to hear what responses you get as I will probably have to correct this sooner or later.

Cheers,

265/75's are a good size tyre that will fit on standard alloys.

If your still begging for more, then jump to the 255/85. Not too many manufacturers cover this size, but BFG, Maxxis and a couple of others do.

yep i'm with Peter on this one, never driven a 2.5 but love my 2.8.

Not too much in the way of replacements:
-Water pump
-Fuel pump rebuild
and the usual diesel maintenance.

I give it some serious hell and just keeps on going, though I do keep on top of regular servicing.

Definately a great ...

I run MT/R's on my '94 and TOYO M/T's on my '99 and the TOYO's are at least 75% better than my MT/R's. The TOYOs have a thicker sidewall, more sidewall bite, more siping on tread blocks, taller tread blocks, and they have bead protection (like BFG's). My TOYO's get better traction than the MT/R's ...

If you were to fit and auto locker, it would be worthwhile fitting a set of free-wheeling hubs too - in the event that you broke a cv, you could still drive using the cv on the opposite side.

All that work and only using a 3-link? Don't get me wrong, I mean anything is better than the IFS setup, but I can't justify the fact that if your going to SAS - why not go the full haul.

Fuel Gauge Sender Unit Not Working (Long Range Tank)

Hi fellas,

I installed a second hand Lone Ranger Long Range Tank (140-150L) a month or two back in my NK 2.8TD. The gauge sender that came with the tank was faulty as I found when I plugged it in. Once I pulled it out and had a look at it, I compared it to the sender unit that came out of my ...

Yep, go for the patrol rims, they are 16x8's so you can fit 33's if you want too.

I got a set of series 1 GU rims - I mounted one up to see how much the offset differed from the standard GLS alloys - and I could barely notice the difference.
