I have to say I prefer the look of round sliders over square ones but which is stronger? and is there any need to use such wide sliders as the ones above? ie would square do instead of rectangular?

I chose the wider RHS to add a little more protection for the sill if I hit a rock while the truck ...

I have the 600 and I love it. It gets into all the nooks and crannies without a problem. The pressure is also good as you don't want it to hard blowing cr@p into your seals. The applicator is pretty handy also. Haven't tried the salt assault yet.

Ive got the basic massojet and a K'Archer high pressure cleaner and I use both. The pressure cleaner is excellent to get the bad mud off. But I use the massojet most of the time as it is great for getting inside the chassis and other difficult places to get in. And with the on/off type switch the ...

uhhh so it only happenes when you let the revs drop

Its not like I ease up too much on the revs, it's just that trying to maintain high enough revs to keep motoring up the slope without plowing up at full throttle. Its then that they drop off, I dont even have to lift the foot for it to happen ...

Yep, at the start of the day right through to the end. Full tank through to whatever level I get to by the end of the day.

Yes it is a 1998 GU. I got it @6 months ago at 104,000kms, it's now on 116000kms. It does feel that there is a big gap as you put your foot down and when the revs pick up, and if the slope is steep, putting your foot down does nothing to recover the revs before it stalls.

Turbo pipes

My inlet and outlet rubber pipes on the turbo have become really soft. On really hot days like last Sunday out at Landcruiser, I believe they are being sucked closed a bit. Apparently, after speaking to Dave at 4x4 Excellence (shameless plug  ), this is common for the Patrol. Sometimes they ...

Stalling on hills

I have an ongoing problem with stalling when doing steep hill climbs. It makes it difficult to crawl up slopes when you need to keep the revs really high to prevent the stall. If I do try crawling, if one of the wheels hits a bigger bump that needs a bit of oomph to get over, the revs can drop off ...

I also have a leak in the crankshaft seal and the turbo pipes have gotten real soft and are playing up (maybe). Had a problem the other day on the way out of Landcruiser Mt, being so hot all day, I think the turbo sucked the pipes closed. After it all cooled ...

Well, had my service done today at Boab 4x4 at Lawnton. Only $650 all up which I was happy with. But found out my rear main seal is leaking. Apparently a big job to fix and will cost around $400 for 7 hours work. Its not leaking to bad yet but will need to be looked at sometime soon. Bugger. They ...

Might not be connected but I have found that since I got my 285/75R16 MTR's on, I get this wobble a lot. Having them at 40psi like the tyre place said seems to increase them. When the pressure is a bit lower such as 36-38psi the wobble seems to disappear. Just wondering if there is anything in that ...

Help! I need some urgent info.

Background - I had a second key cut by Nissan a while ago but they couldn't get me in to program it then. Bloke warned me "Don't put key in ignition, will wipe out computer" Ok, everyone in house told "do not touch key, will hurt truck if you stick it in ignition ...

Air flow sensor?

Do the 2.8td gu's have the same problems with air flow sensors as the 3.0td?

Reading many threads and forums about this problem, I seem to have many of the same symptoms. Blowing lots of smoke when taking off through to about third gear, lack of oomph down low. When off-road on steep slopes, the ...
