Why are you going with 38, could you possibly get away with using 35 or 36 instead.

The smallest Creepy Crawler tire you can get is a 35/12.5/15 and being a Bias Ply tire they will serve you very well as a second set (Bush Set.) To expensive to blow on the Black top.

I have a 2002 ST. We got about 580km per tank with AT tyres, works out to be around 12.34lts per 100km.
When we changed to running MT tyres we get about 500km per tank.
I know few Sydney blokes get around 15-17lts per 100km in their R50 Pathies.

Drop Boxes

What are the advantages or disadvantages. Besides from correcting caster and less strain on some bushes is there anything else, if it went on a GQ Patrol with a 4'' lift.

Go the BFG's and have fun with them. Perhaps a good trip to finish them off, instead of having 2 sets floating around. At least you will have fun trying to get up those tracks.

Trash the old set first I say, my 2 cents worth.

I would choose the BFG Muddie, damn good tyre. Because if it starts to rain while your out at least you will know you will have a better chance of getting out.
I have these tyres on my Pathfinder, if your on a budget I would look at the Maxxis Buckshot Muddies.

Tyres will probably be Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radials 33/12.50R15.
So perhaps stick with the HVY DUTY Springs then "Bugger."
I'm saving for the mods, so plenty of time to get it right "Hopefully."

Once I'm up I'll be pretty keen to meet some of you folk in SE QLD.

GQ Coil Springs - Which one

So which is the best spring to get . I want wheel travel and heaps of it, on a GQ Patrol with a steel bullbar and towbar and 130lt fuel tank. I'm not looking at road handling manners or how it looks after I've packed it to the hilt, what I'm chasing is a spring that will work well with Long Travel S...

With this new Legislation, haven't they put in Tyres can have a INCREASE of diameter of no more than 50mm, which in my calculations allows us to only run 33's or 305/70/16 legally on a GQ or GU.

I'm pretty sure they have capped the tyres to 50mm, I sure hope I read it the wrong way :?

Which MT Claw do you have Radial or Bias? Do you drive with these tyres on the road with a fully packed fourbie? I'm asking these questions because I'm in the market for a set of claws, the bloke at the shop seems to think Coopers STT's are a tougher tyre then the Radial Claw, but which one do you t...

Better Off Road Tyre

Tyres to suit for a bush set and I would probably trailer in trailer out. The Baja Claw or the Simex Centipede Extreme Tracker. These tyres would be going on a GQ doing Med, Hard, Extreme type tracks found in most 4WD parks around QLD. OR should I stick with a good old set of BFG Muddies? Price $300...

It's called relighting the fire, by the way DieselBoy thats a fine looking truck you had. Yeah Yeah the R50 is great for the highway, but until we can afford a Dunga (probably a MQ) for a $12000 modification bonanza, for the harder tracks, tree hugging, Bank scraping. Until then the Pathie will have...

The Pathie R50 is very capable off road. A front bumper that acts like a scraper or scoop is the first thing that needs to come off, otherwise you will rip it off like I did in a mud hole at levuka. Ground clearance is also a issue, most after market shocks and springs will give you somewhere betwee...
