Got a GU box in mine too and is smooth to drive but when im on rocks etc all flexed up and really need some power in the steering... it feels like im driving an old falcon without power steering :?

Ive just fitted the v8 and using the holden pump and hoping this fixes it...

Hi guys, ive just fitted GU rear end in my GQ and found the the old tailshaft dont fit the GU... the GU flange is smaller and has female alignment (looks to be the same as the GQ front diff flange) the GQ has male alignment and a larger flange... They want us to all drive stock standard sedans.......what a PITA! No... they just want us to work for bugger all then pay them income tax and GST on everything... they dont want us to have fun, they dont make much tax from that... Ceramic coating in Newcastle?

Anyone know a local who does ceramic heat coating of headers? Im hoping to get them done asap and not get stuffed about with postage :roll:

fester, the lug is just plate steel welded at 90 deg to the box (a fillet weld i believe) fiftyfrenzy, the setting you have suggested is pretty close to what i am running, im using thoriated (red tip) tungsten with size 6 gas cup sharp point on tungsten about 5-7mm stickin out depnding on the room ...

Yeah I would grind back your weld (get rid of the contamination) and start again... but thats just me hey;) Clean, clean, clean and clean more before you weld... i wipe the rods with metho too, with alloys i wipe rods with scourer & metho It wouldn't hurt to get some scrap metal in the same ...
