Does anyone know of anyone who can shorten a drive shaft. As I need to shorten my Hilux's rear drive shaft by 45mm.

front diff
To fix this problem I used lowering blocks ( which rise it really ) as the axle is under the springs . The blocks have shock mount pins manufactured into them, made them at work and cost next to nothing.
If you want pics of this, e-mail me and I'll send them thru.

Mate you nailed the problem when you said you have a 50mm lift and the radiator hasn't been lowered to match the motor height. Its all got to do with the head of water level between motor and engine, close fit shroud around the fan to direct air thru radiator. Every Lux I know that has a lift has ...

Radiator
Its very true but I have solved the problem by lowering my radiator back down to its original position in relationship to the motor. I used two pieces of flat bar to reposition the mounting holes. I welded two 5/16" countersunk capscrews positioned exactly 2" below the 5/16" mounting holes. Then I ...

Ifs v's live
I consider myself an expert at breaking Ifs front ends as I battled with mine for the past three years. My opinion is the IFS front end has too many under engineered parts for eg the most breakable part is the Idler arm ( I broke three of these ) then there is the axle flanges, the flange on the ...

front diff
Actually Guys the front left axle (the long one) is two piece. When your vehicle is in two wheel drive the left axle is disconnected from the diff centre some there is no drive to the front end. Its just like lifting one wheel over a cross over and loosing traction from the lifted wheel. Its a pig ...

pitman arm
Another thing you should know is to use a 80 series pitman arm as you will need a straighter arm not bent and the 80 series has a tapered hole (female) end on it for the drag link to connect to.Your standard arm has a ball joint in it (male) which is not what you want to connect to the drag link.

Steering Box
I put a LN61 box and pump in mine but the only problem I had was the bottom radiator hose had to be rerouted as the pump was in the way now.I use the top and bottom radiator hoses join together off a 86 Tarago van this worked a treat.

IFS Diffs
The only thing you can do to a IFS diff to make it stronger is to put a airlocker in it. I have two IFS diff in my shed one is unlocked (standard 4:3 ratio) and the other is a ARB airlocker with a 4:55 ratio which is about 12months old. I never broke a cv when I had a IFS front end but I did break ...

Bent hanger
Karl, I bent mine back 1" 3/4" on both side on one rock up on slippery rock road, yes everyone knows the rock I'm talking about. Anyway you might have to bite the bullet and convert over to a live front end. If you choose to go this way see overkill engineering at hornsby.
