well, I finally got the LPG installed. got 2 tanks mounted under the tray (roughly 100L usable capacity) and I must say I am underwhelmed. Currently she's chewing through 22-25L of gas / 100km, which roughly works out at $1 less than ULP per 100km :?, and about 50% higher consumption than what ...

Thanks for all the info folks. I've got the beast booked in for Feb to get the system fitted. I decided to add 2 tanks under the tray so that I will have a usable range on LPG. With full fuel and LPG tanks I should have roughly 1000km range.

I'll post a few pics after it is done

Thanks dig I've had a chat with gas fitter near work and he happened to have 2 tritons in there (1 was his) so I was able to crawl around under them. I'm probably going to go with him. He also manages to tuck the tank(s) right up, and does the right thing with the exhast :) I'm also considering a ...

Bump!!

Hi Guys Resurecting this thread as I'm looking to install LPG on my Triton and am leaning toward mounting the tank underneath. Are ther any gotchas that I should be looking out for? Also what sort of fuel consumption are you guys getting out of them? Just trying to work out expected range from the ...

Forgot to mention that mine is 3.0 petrol too.

It is worth remembering that the service interval for diesels is only 7,500km though (as opposed to 15,000km for petrols) so long term diesel service costs are higher if you want to keep your warranty.

OK, the "Love it" option may be a little strong, but I think you could do worse, so that's the closest option IMHO. Australian 4wd Monthly absolutely bagged it when it was released, but you must take into account that it doesn't have Toyota badges. They didnt even drive one in their 4wd ute ...

After a bit of research the springs seem to be the better deal. Main reason is that I can go 50mm wihtout requiring an engineer to look over it. All other options would mean I'd handing the engineer wallet full of cash just to stay legal (in the ACT anyway) i've heard that tough dog have 40mm ...

Am I right in thinking that a dodgy solenoid will only pull the front hub in and doesnt engage 4wd? If this is that case and you cant find a suitable hack to keep em unlocked then there is no harm done in driving there and back with the hubs engaged (except a little reduction in fuel economy ...

I just checked out the very same thing for my MK Triton physh. I am leaning toward the rancho 9000 adjustables cause this will allow me to have the adjustment up front too. hairdrier has done the trick nicely for me in the past. I am not a bit graphics fan. I have removed every sticker that I could from every car I have owned. I just reckoned they looked cheap. They also look really crap when they start to age a bit.

I like ya springs mate. very snazzy :)

Thanks for the great explanation. makes it clearer. The scenario that I had in mind was one side of the front end compressed and one extended so it is as I thought. more torsion bar questions ...

Well, I bit the bullet this evening and started messing with the front suspension. I raised the front 40mm which looks schweet and gives a noticable improvement in clearance under the front. Unfortunately this also took me to max adjustment so I will have to reindex the torsion bars. The suspension ...
