John I am a Newy local as well and very keen on lifting my 98 Disco tdi. I bought it with what I think is a 2 inch lift (OME coils and Rancho adj shocks). Until I am able to buy new shocks, I was intending on getting 3 inch Dobinson coils off Shane at Suspension Stuff and using my Ranchos. However, ...

Is the offer of inspecting the LRA flares open to anybody :) ? I live in Newy and am considering a set of flares for my 4dr tdi Disco as well. I am lead to believe that the Paddock spares rubber ones from the UK are the ones to get, but they are a fair bit more exxy. Could you shoot me a PM luv4been...

Mickrangie How much of the Disco grill did you have to cut out to get the RRC bullbar and winch to fit? Do you have any close up pics of the grill I can look at? I have a RRC ARB winch bar and Warn XD9000 winch that I'm going to put on the front of my 98 tdi Disco and am wondering before I do, what ...

I have just recently fitted a second hand ausguard barrier into the back of my 98 Discovery ($110). I was priveleged to witness the dismantle of it out of the wreck and the positioning of the barrier fittings were very difficult to get to. So much so I walked away with the bolts, arms and no fixing ...

Vitara gearbox question
Okay all Did a search but did not find what I was after. Has anybody swapped out their manual box for a 4 speed auto in a Vitara? My clutch is getting iffy and I am looking at dropping the box to do the clutch OR spring the extra dollars to put a second hand 4 speed auto in instead. Feeling a bit so...

Yes, the rear coils do get loose so I have cable tied them to the bottom mount and let the tops of the coils relocate if they do get loose. Not the best, and I am looking at maybe getting some Kings springs as well. That way I'll get some more lift as well. How high did the kings alone make your Suz...

Ben I can only assume the King springs have not given you enough raise. When I did mine, I used the original springs and 50mm coil spacers at the rear and 30mm coil spacers at the front. This leveled the car nicely, however since fitting the winch I have a slightly nose down stance now. After I did ...

Air conditioning compressor question
Howdy all A general question about air conditioning compressors. Do they all have a drive bearing in the pulley that can be replaced? I have what looks like a failed bearing in the air conditioning compressor (yet to be fully diagnosed) of my 94 model suzuki vitara. I know this isn't purely electric...

The 0 deg rims WILL scrub on the inside of the rear wheel arch and when turning the fronts will scrub on the rear of the front wheel arch. I'm also running the whiteline bolts and have so for the last 6 months with no issues. Both seem reasonable as both can maintain camber in the long term, it's just the question about the longevity of the camber bolts?? I have pushed the car reasonbly hard since I've had them there, so........ Cheers...

Thks Nic Yes the extractor O2 fitting has a hole where the nut is welded on, so no worries there. I have used copious amounts of WD40, penetrene and both a tube spanner (slightly modified to fit, but ended up stuffing it) and a 21mm open ended spanner that is now VERY open ended if you know what I m...

O2 sensor on vitara 16B extractors??
Since replacing my cracked exhaust manifold with a set of extractors I have not been able to remove the O2 sensor from the old manifold. I was told to drive with no O2 sensor wouldn't harm the car, so the welded nut on the new extractors ready for a O2 sensor has not had one since it was installed. ...
