Re: Lost Bottom end grunt - MK Triton
I'd say you would be spot on Scott, hence why I suggested this as a possible fault in my first post. I've still got my money on a faulty Afm though.

Re: Lost Bottom end grunt - MK Triton
Sweet man, thanks for the tip. Can you please explain to me how I had a dramatic , extremely noticable increase in bottom end torque when A new pump was fitted thus bringing the pressure and flow back to normal?

Re: Lost Bottom end grunt - MK Triton
Not saying that it is the fuel pump. but I would expect that if the pump was sus, it would starve the engine for fuel at high loads - high revs/high load. I would be looking for a vacuum hose either fallen off or perished, whic allows air to get into the engine at low revs, mucking up the air/fuel ...

Re: Lost Bottom end grunt - MK Triton
Air Flow Meter or check fuel pressure. AFM's are pretty common but expensive. Try cleaning it with a very light solvent and see if it improves. I was lacking down low power in my 3lt. Pulled the return line off while running and no fuel was returning to the tank. Replaced the crappy Fuelmiser pump ...

Re: Freewheeling Hub Conversion
My advice is to steer clear of the AVM branded hubs. I had endless drama's with mine not engaging properly and dis-engaging under load etc. They also let a lot of water into the wheel bearing and hub and i was forever cleaning and re-packing front bearings. After about 2 years i threw them in the ...

Re: Transfer output bearings
Do you have up and down movement of the front shaft where it goes into the transfer? This is not a common fault with the standard IFS as the front diff is solidly mounted and there is no up and down movement. I would assume yours has worn due to the movement of the front solid diff. The front shaft ...

I bought a genuine extension housing from Mitsubishi @ $380au and it lasted about a year. Had a new bush machined up out of brass and never looked back. Wish I'd gone down that path first.

What wire did you tap into for the earth? Sometimes a park wire can present as an earth wire. I usually create an earth point to the body for stereo's as i have tapped in to the wrong wire for an earth and killed the park lights on my brothers car. Made my own earth and all was good.

Rough bugger! Bloody oath..... that's what we built them for isn't it. It hasn't been happy since i drowned it about 18 months ago. Oil gets dirty very quickly, so i've been kind of expecting it. It's a bloody nasty noise though. Had the first trip out on the weekend with the new 33's and i don't ...

Transfer case???
I'm pretty sure my transfer case is knackered. 94 nj 3.0lt manual. I have a loud clunking sound, similar to a loud cv knock, coming from my transfer. It only happens in 4wd and is worse with higher load and turning and i can re-create it in low range taking off in reverse quickly. It sound like the ...

Re: Paj upper control arm
Genuine, you have to buy the whole arm. About $250 for one side and $300 for the other. There are some aftermarket nylon bushes, however some use the original cup from the original bush and some dont. Nolathane replace the whole bush. Depending which way you go i would keep the original cups incase ...

Re: Longer springs & Shorter Shocks???
Part number is RS5115. I ordered them through a Rancho distributor here in Oz. From memory he said he would make them up. They are a great length shock and give heaps of travel with swaybar removed. Even patrol springs want to fall out. I suggest making up 10 to 20mm spacers for the bump stops to ...

Re: Longer springs & Shorter Shocks???
I cant see an issue with these shocks running patrol springs. Standard length shocks would be an issue however i would say the sway bar will limit travel well before the 2"shocks top out. I don't see an issue with removing the sway bar either as i run a 3" Rancho shock, patrol spring and no sway bar ...

Re: More noises - front diff mount?
Scott, i have just done my front diff mounts. They were flogged to the point where i could grab the diff yolk and move the diff up and down about 10 mm. There didn't appear to be any noises though. Kelpro used to do a pressed rubber mount (I'd used these before) however they have stopped making them ...

Yeah i will look at getting an ECU Glen. It has a high tide mark on the circuit board from when i drowned it, so I'm thinking if its not shagged now, it will be sooner or later. Damn why haven't they invented solid particle e-mail yet so you can e-mail me an ECU over!

Re: NJ 3.0lt idling high
Just an update if anyone has any ideas. I blocked off the fast idle valve on the throttle body to rule this out. I was able to set the idle at the desired RPM with more to play on the idle screw. Went for a drive and all was good. Turned it off then on again and what do ya bloody know, Idle at 1100 ...

I'm not sure. A work mate bought a spacer from Snake which had different hole spacings machined into it (Toyota), however none matched. The centres are 60mm x 70mm. I have e-mailed locktup and a few others, so i will see what they have to say i suppose.

Re: NJ 3.0lt idling high
Been busy Scott. Bought a new house and just had our 3rd (and last) kid. The old Paj has been a little neglected. She needs new rubber, so i'm going up from a 32" to a 33" on a 15 x 8 rim with 0 offset. Am tossing up between the KM2's and the new MTR kevlars. I want to get her back in ship shape ...

NJ 3.0lt idling high
Hey boys, its been a while. I'm having drama's trying to get my 3.0lt Paj to idle below 1100rpm. I have tried replacing both the IAC and Throttle body. The IAC tests ok and is working as it idles up with steering and A/C. I have heard of the wax pallet within the throttle body playing up and i have ...

1 Maybe you have a short circuit somewhere in your indicator circuit? Possibly the indicator can. If you do, then this will load the whole electrics and cause a volts drop. Have you checked the voltage at the battery with the turn signals on and off? You should have very little volts drop with just ...
