Not quite one end of arm has threaded insert other end has male thread i.e. adjustable in 1/2 turn increments .

left and right of vehicle have reverse thread

Personally I;d hock it for as much as possible and put the $$ towards an 8274. I'm with Wooders if your entering comps the 8274 is the go .I have a chinese 10ooolb job it works OK but is V E R Y slow compared to a high mount definately not what you'd want in comps . And yes the 8274 is on my must ...

I tried the aerostart method using butane from camp stove you need to use stuff all but I have an engine driven compressor now so I'd give it a miss as it pretty risky

(but looks pretty cool :oops: )
