My pump started leaking fuel like a sieve, so I kinda figured it needed a rebuild. It still worked fine and had no hesitation when revving, but the new fangled low sulphur diesel had dried out the seals in the pump...

Maybe get the injectors cleaned first and see if that makes a difference.

I went to Bunnings and bought a garden sprinkler system tap and installed it in the pipe after the rear washer pump. You can turn the tap off and the water won't pour out the rear nozzle when you're on a hill. Then you just turn it on when you're back on the black stuff and need to clean the rear ...

My 4in springs were 15mm different in height side to side, my truck sits level when I'm in it, but looks a little crooked when it's parked.

I installed the spring the way the factory said to, so I don't worry about it.

you would ask yourself why you need a 4inch lift, when you can fit 36's with a 2-3inch lift. I'd ask why does everything have to be about need, what about want? :) Seriously though, I just installed a 4in lift kit and it cost over $2k. I don't regret it for a second but if I were on a budget (and ...

firstly throw the sway bar behind the shed. 2ndly contact Haultech and order a set of slotted bushes. once youve fitted these pull the front shocks out and drive it up a travel ramp until the coils are loose. take measurements and order new shocks to suit, if you are going to fit bigger springs ...

I used to get 10-11L per 100k on the highway when I had 31's (NA td42). Now I've gone to 35's I'm expecting it to be more like 12-13L per 100k.

I haven't really got a problem with the lack of speed, the truck always gets where its going in the end.

Agreed, lifespan will be shorter than a OEM bush. But since my truck's not a daily driver, the bushes should last long enough. If I get even 20K outta them I'll be happy.

GQ Brake fluid

I'm changing brake fluid in the truck and was wondering what sort is best to use? Anyone have brand recomendations?

Also, should I use dot 3 like the cap on the fluid reservoir says to or is it ok/better to flush it out and use dot 4 or dot 5 or 5.1?

Thanks guys.

Torn several lugs/chunks off a 31x10.5 Bridgestone Desert Dueller, gassing it on sharp rocks probably to blame. Tires were on a diesel Hilux and a diesel GQ at different times.

My Pro-Comps shocks did exactly the same thing bruiser. I was a little worried as well, but they're fine. Bit of a pain to install them when they're fully extended as compressing them under the vehicle is hard.

I find a handy creek crossing and run through it a few times (at a safe speed of course). This way most of the mud that gets forced up under the truck gets washed out so I don't have to spend so much time at the carwash. Saves money and time, both of which are valuable to me. Then I make sure I lube ...

Removing front shocks

I'm in the process of putting new suspension under my GQ and removing the front shocks is proving to be a hassle. The nut on the pin of the old shocks simply won't budge no matter what I do. I tried using an 8mm spanner to hold the shock in place while I try and undo the 19mm nut but it simply ...
