Not stressed about the cost of the freight I know the RD28 is not the greatest. This is a single mum with a blown engine (cracked pistons I suspect) just needs to get it running she would be happy with a running RD28 at the moment. The mob that have the car are trying to charge her $14000 for a new/...

I must admit I have never broken a centre and I only use standard size tyres However sometimes I do get rough and am concerned about the bad press they receive. I do have a spare but was trying to eliminate the weak spot, Jack Mac can actually supply a 4 pinion centre for $750 and the Tru Track is $...

Anyone Broken a Trutrack
Guys I am looking at getting rid of the 2 pinion diff from the front of my old Series 3 Stage1 V8.
I was wondering if the Trutrack could be a relatively cheap way of getting rid of it.
It already has maxi axles and I cant find any 4 pinion centres.
Thanks

Rover motors at least the early model ones were high volume low pressure when it came to oil. Do a Google search and you will find heaps of info if they are tired they may have 0-10 psi at idle when hot and 30-40 when running at 2500 rpm. If they are healthy they usually have 15-20psi at idle when h...
I have a detroit locker in a Salisbury Diff in my stage 1 I have been very impressed with it, Yes it does bang occasionally but I havent seen mud or rain in the Centre for a long time so havent seen any negative handling. While on the subject has anyone ever broken standard 24 spline axles by using ...

I'm in Alice and have the same trouble as you after much chasing and buying in the southern states (Vic, Sa, Wa) I have concluded that you are much better off getting stuff in Queensland not only do they have the parts but they are usually cheaper. Do a yellow pages search online for Rover car parts...

I bought mine from Locked Drive Systems in Sydney it cost me $903 to the door http://www.locked-drive.com.au/ The performance increase in the leaf sprung stage 1 is fantastic you will need to get use to a few creaks and crunches and accept that it will add more driveline backlash to something that a...

Advice on Salisbury Axles
Guys I put a detroit locker in the back of a Series 3 Stage 1 and I was wondering if anyone had done this without changing the axles? I was considering Maxis or Jack Mack but Over the years I have never seen a broken Salisbury Axle. Do I need to change these I only run the original size tyres?
Thanks

I bought the lifters and cam from Triumph Rover Spares in Adelaide and from what I understood the lifters were US made ones for a Rover. They definately were not Holden ones and I would assume with TRS's history and reputation they should be ok. Apparently they have used this brand for years in Rove...

Noisy Tappets in 3.5 V8
Seeking advice from those in Rover Land that have more knowledge than I. I have a 3.5 Litre Series 3 Land Rover that has done a genuine 84000 km, Due to the tappets being noisy I replaced the cam and lifters to discover that after a short time I still have a noisy tappet. I have done the following 1...

Dont hesitate I know I will come under fire for saying this but in the eyes of many who dont have an emotional attachment with Land Rover. Please forgive me if this is a bit rude but !!! This one takes me back to my child hood too Nick I remember that the Land Rovers that were used for Roo shooting were run mainly in 3rd gear, The end result was that the box nearly always jumped out of 3rd gear. The solution was quite simple and easy we use to knock a hole in the dash and run a piec...
