Not stressed about the cost of the freight I know the RD28 is not the greatest. This is a single mum with a blown engine (cracked pistons I suspect) just needs to get it running she would be happy with a running RD28 at the moment. The mob that have the car are trying to charge her $14000 for a new/...

I wouldnt ignore armbrup he is no fool
The Rover V8s main weakness is the cam and lifters
Not to say it hasnt effected the big ends but the cam and lifters
will be effected first.

The Rangie will pull it much better if you put Stage 1 Land Rover high ratio in it.
This will take the high range ratio to 1.336 instead of the standard ratios.
Easy to do you dont have to pull the box just change the gears in situ

I must admit I have never broken a centre and I only use standard size tyres However sometimes I do get rough and am concerned about the bad press they receive. I do have a spare but was trying to eliminate the weak spot, Jack Mac can actually supply a 4 pinion centre for $750 and the Tru Track is $...

Anyone Broken a Trutrack

Guys I am looking at getting rid of the 2 pinion diff from the front of my old Series 3 Stage1 V8.
I was wondering if the Trutrack could be a relatively cheap way of getting rid of it.
It already has maxi axles and I cant find any 4 pinion centres.
Thanks

Rover motors at least the early model ones were high volume low pressure when it came to oil. Do a Google search and you will find heaps of info if they are tired they may have 0-10 psi at idle when hot and 30-40 when running at 2500 rpm. If they are healthy they usually have 15-20psi at idle when h...

Guys I put a detroit locker in the back of a Series 3 Stage 1 and I was wondering if anyone had done this without changing the axles? I was considering Maxis or Jack Mack but Over the years I have never seen a broken Salisbury Axle. Do I need to change these I only run the original size tyres?
