Re: Tyre recommendations?
Ive clocked up over 50 000 ks on bfg km2's ( new design mud terrain) on my my troopy and they still have at least 20 000 k's in them. They are dead quiet, handle fantastic on the road, grip amazing off road and bag out real well when the pressure is dropped. Theyre in 33 12.50 15 though. But I can ...

Ticking 1hz after oil change.
I did an oil change on my 1hz before going away last week and shortly after the oil change I developed a ticking sound. It only appears after driving for around 3-5 minutes and stays once warm, only comes around at 2000rpm and goes away after it drops below and it makes no difference weather it is ...

Re: which 33" tyres for troopy
I run 33 12.5 15 bfg mud terrain km2's under my troopy, they fit with standard suspension but I now have 45mm extended shackles (which only works out ot be under an inch lift) Love the tyres, done over 20000ks with not a lot of wear at all and when aired down they grip like all hell, I will be ...

Simex mp trekkers on d21 navara tray, will they fit?
G'day guys, just wondering if any of you nissan people would happen to know weather a set of simex mp trekkers would squeeze under a standard navara d21. I have forgotten the actual size printed on them but they work out the same as 7.50 16... cheese cutter 32's?

d21 navara starter question?
A mate picked up a 96 mod d21 navara with a 2.4l injected petrol donk today. the starter wouldnt throw so I chucked the trusty screwdriver onto the solenoid and away she fired. Mate drove it home and when he arrived he popped the bonnet to notice the started had earthed out on something and was ...

They had a quick look at them in a certain 4x4 magazine a few issues ago (great wall that is) and the little diesel engine that comes in them had mitsubish proudly stamped on them. For memories its the 2.5 or whatever it was the paj's came out with. Im sure noone would complain about that but as for ...

gq clunking in the front end
My mate has recently purchased a 3.0l qq which he has discovered has a rather loud clunk comming from the front end. It only happens when in 4x4 and climbing steep inclines, naturally the noise is comming from the front end. He had read up that aparently the gq locking hubs are weak so I pulled them ...

Ive done some 17000 ks on my km2s now and even with the weight of the troopy they have worn very minimal. I covered most terrains and as far as traction goes they really do a brilliant job. I did manage to slice a sidewall at donolleys creek over easter but I was going up a very shailey track with a ...

uni joint? I fried a wheelbearing a week ago, that badly that it ended up spinning the bearing race and warping the hub and the noise as it happened was most noticable at higher speeds, it was a horrible grinding sound with plenty of squeeling. Yesterday my front uni started to let go, was making a ...

Type those first 2 tyres into the search section and you should get some good reading. I have km2"s in a 33 on my troopy and have clocked up some 9000 ks on them with minimul wear and great off road traction. From what I have read the bighorns are a good item aswell for a bit less. Then the list ...

For that price there is heaps you could look at. Gq would obiously be the best choice, you should even have enough change to get a lift and good tyres or even a winch or locker. Then there is the option of a landcruiser bundera or something similar so on and so forth. But as far as comfort, off road ...

I think you'll find most of the time when people say that a mud terrain is "good/except for mud" is because they have been compared to the likes of extreme trekkers etc which are insane in mud. I say it depends on what you version of mud is ie, a wet track with slippery sections decent rutts etc or ...

Re: lock
Spot on, all though it is the inside wheel that unlocks, but all the same spot on! vk, im not 100% sure what you are trying to say but when you turn and the locker is "ratcheting" the dog teeth have disengaged at the diff centre and there for the axle that is ratcheting on has no drive what so ever ...

I found a pic to help illustrate things a little. My very dodgy red lines represent where the axles would come to on the side gears. The right side of he pic is what happens when turning, the dog teeth move apart from each other literally disengageing that axle from the centre all together so that ...

Maybe if you have a run up at something and a wheel lifts it might maintain the momentum it had with the run up if the axle disengages. But there is no way it could spin at a higher speed due to torque from the running gear without the wheel on the ground been unlocked, which doesnt happen. I havent ...
