could be down to reving at 4000rpm and going 90kph though!! Sounds like you are stuck in third ? We have a 91 2.5TD auto LWB, the wife uses it for the school run, its probably the most economical one we have ever owned, it gets around 22mpg (10l/100K) Try driving a 3.0V6 on 33's, we get 9mpg (25 ...

Flex - you can get flex with a bit of trimming here and there http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/images/albums/Mats_Photos/front_on.jpg I had a 89 Gen 1, at full stuff the 31's tucked up inside the guards (my bump stops were shaved a bit), so the 33's will foul on the front guards at full flex ( I put ...

Fist off, I applaude anyone trying to get more lift out of their IFS suspension. On my own rig, I have done the most to maximise the flex from the front end , and left the ride height standard (the 33's help in the height dept) The tai kit gets the extra lift by basically moving the whole lot down ...

Will look into bot of those (dizzy and injector connections)

Almost rule out injector conections, as this is a total engine misfire, not just 1 or 2 cylinders.

I am picking it is electrical/electronic as it started sudenly, and stopped just as quick, so rules out plugs, leads, coil, fuel pump, fileter etc

This leaves AFM, O2 air and water temp and possibly distributer (crank angle sensor)

Re the clicking - both of our diesels did/do this, you will hear a click after a few seconds of turning the key to on, wait untill you hear this before cranking. sometimes you get some extra clicks, no sure why, on the old truck (Gen 1) it did this while driving, within the first 30 seconds of ...

Any thougts on this ? Gen 2 1992 V6 3.0 Did a run today, about 22 ks to day on a clay track, got back on the tarseal, about a k down the road put the boot in, and the truck misfires, anything more than the lightest touch on the throttle and the engine misses, cuts out etc, idles fine. Big Blue, get you front sway bar, rip it off and throw it away ! On the open road pay a bit more respect to the speeds posted on the corners, but you more than make up for it with the extra flex from the front end. Its not unsafe, just "different" Heres a link to my gains with different "simple ...

Looks very tidy, whats the plans for it ? The 2.5TD is very miserly on the fuel and has a fair amount of tourque when on boost. Hi J top thanks for that, any cert issues with doing that, any photo's ? Did you cut the mounts off the diff and reposition ?

Sounds like a good idea, as the lower mount could do with moving up out ofthe way, and may held the clearance at full flex.

Hi Guys, Playing around on the weekend getting the most flex out of the standard equipment. I got 590 mm with front and rear bars removed, bump stops shaved and a 35mm lift on the torsions (she sits level now) The left front was climbing up the ramp. At this flex, the 32's had about 1/2 inch ...

whats the thoughts on doing the ball joint flip, with a spacer thick enough to give a total drop of say 25mm, then putting a 25mm spacer between the lower a-arm and the (dont know the proper name) piece of cast metal that attaches the lower ball joint. Would effectively raise the front end, not ...

the 92 3.0 V6 petrol exceed is the machine of choice for offroading if its not a daily driver, power delivery is much better (more and more responsive) for off road driving, but would not like to foot the fuel bill if we used it every day . I was under the assumption that the ball joint flip was done when you cranked the front up 2" to counter the wheels going / \ due to the top arm being shorter than the bottom, and that the flip would help fix the situation and get the front wheels more verticle. The problems with knock-ned front ...

Hi Guys, Have a gen 2 exceed that just come off a farm, so have had to strip the carpets out (stink like dead cows). Hi, get the alignment checked, you likely bashed one of the tie rods, the pulling to the left is a good indicator of this.

Also check to see if the wheels are balanced, had a similar exper ance with a truck we brought and that was all the shaking was.

Sorry this is almost off topic, but an auto equiped 4x4 can go downhill as well as, if not better than a manual. I think the technique is called "drive over braking", at the top of the hill apply enough pressure on the brakes to hold you in place with your left foot, and lock your foot in that ...
