It turned out to be the O ring seal - was torn when fitting the shaft and a small piece had been carried through to the gearbox seal allowing it to leak as well.

All fixed now and ready to head bush again.

Thanks for the reply.

The transfer case has a pink oil (redline) and the gearbox is filled with a Blue oil.

Most of the leaking oil is pink (transfer case) but there is a small amount of the blue (gearbox) oil.

Gearbox Oil Leak LT230T and LT85

I have just had my LT85 Gearbox rebuilt and new seals fitted to the LT230 transfer box as it was leaking big time.

Unforunately I still have a leak that shows up after as little as 20 km's.

Most of the oil is coming from the Transfer case, but a little is from the gearbox. The leak shows up on the ...

Thanks for the advice.

The Boge has long since ceased to work - Several people have advised me not to replace it ! :? Will it be needed with the PolyAirs in the rear ?

The shocks are past their use by date - Perhaps I should go the whole hog and update the coils and shocks before I leave ?

Does ...

I have been using the vehicle for work so maintenance is right up to date as it is a tax deduction.

Gear box is the LT85 which has the MaxiDrive bearing upgrade.
MaxiDrive locker in the rear.
8 inch rims with 265/70R16 Cooper ST's.
Turbo
LPG fumigation
Polyairbags in the rear.

Realistically most ...

Spares to Carry on extended trip

I am about to depart on an extended trip (12 months) in our Landrover 110 (Isuzu 4BD1T)

The Landy is a 1986 model and has clocked up just over 300000 km. What spares should I carry ?

Are there any special tools that are needed ?

Adding a Turbo to an Isuzu 4BD1

I have a Landrover 110, a 1986 model with Isuzu 4BD1 donk and LT85 gearbox. The 110 has been in the family since new, however I have owned it for only 1 year. What a fantastic but quirky vehicle they are.

I now do a lot of towing with an off road camper trailer and find the Isuzu lacks a little ...
