If you take that trim off you should get about 10mm more clearance you need

Yes it will fit, I recently fitted one to a GQ it had a stamp on it to say it was to fit a GU

I am looking for someone to look at my gearbox in my 2.8td GU, It keeps coming out of third gear i think it needs a rebuild. Im in Coldstream so some one in the eastern suburbs would be very helpful.

just a quick one is a GQ 2.8 gearbox the same a the GU 2.8 gearbox?

Does any one know if a 4.2 gearbox will bolt upto my 2.8td engine?
Also as they are stronger tougher etc will this take any power away from my engine?.

Syncro's shouldnt have any effect. Generally the gear and selector ring gears have tappers on them, this is effectively wat holds the selector on the gear. Hey all Just after some advice, the wifes gu has developed a problem with third gear. When coasting or slowing down it falls out of third gear, doesnt do it when it has load on it ie accelerating.
