I was told today by a mate who said that you have to have dual batteries the same size or one battery takes power from the smaller one I couldnt fully understand what he was saying so I thought I would ask the experts.

Finally
I adjusted the fuel mixture about 3/4 of a turn and no more excessive smoke had to bring idle up as ststed but all is fine took it on a 12 hr round trip and no smoke.
I would like to thank all who gave me the info especially trains but thanks to all who helped out.
