Thanks for the replies and the link. There is a lot of god info there. :) I think he will look at the 3.0l as he intends to pull a trailer from time to time so the extra capacilty would help

Thinking of getting a Surf

I have a mate that is thinking of getting a Surf. Is there anything that I should tell him to look out for, any years better than any others etc. He will not be doing a lot of high country trips but will probably head up north and into the centre a bit.

There is a possability that you could damage the catalytic converter if it runs out of fuel so it is not something that should be done regularly. :x

I have had a look in the search function for methods of attaching side steps to a GU but only been able to find one method described that involves welding to the chassis. I am keen to avoid welding directly to the chassis if at all possible. Has anyone else made their own side steps and attached ...
