Re: GU 4.5 into a GQ

Hi if you use existing manifolds it should work fine maybe lack full power on petrol but you can adjust LPG for full power no problems.

gu 4.5 fuel consumption

Hi I keep on reading 18l per 100km fuel consumption from people, but I get 32l of LPG per 100 km on LPG no mater how I drive, and towing a caravan I achieved 50l of LPG per 100 km. Is it me, my driving style , my car or people twisting the truth?

With Impco convertors everything can be replaced, but i'm thinking you shoud check your mixer if your converter feels warm to touch. The 300A get a hair line crack in the diaphram or the screws come loose in it. Pull it appart, clean with carby cleaner and reasamble.

Do you know what system you have? If not IMPCO your converter might be dirty inside. The oil that is in LPG builds up in yhe converter and it gets realy thick when its cold and once it warms up it is fine.

1hz turbo

Hi, I think that I saw in one of the forums that someone fitted a turbo from a jackaroo to 1hz? Does it make sense to use a small turbo, it would come on song realy quickly and earliy but at highway crusing it would turn into a glowing ball of melted steel. Does any one have any ideas on this one?

Body swap

Hi, I love reading rthe Forum, every body is swaping GQ parts For QU parts and vice-versa. Has any one heard of a GQ to QU body swap? At a glance both chassis look the same. Thank you.

Thank you all for these words of wisdom. The reason I wanted to use pressure is that my diaphram has a slight leak and my solenoids fill up with shit and stop working, but it seems that a filter might be a better option.

Hi the rubber plug on the left side of the carby is a deceleration anti polution device. You can disable it by turning the small screw under the plug, anti clockwise all the way. If this doesnt work it might be clockwise. You can not stuf it up if you go the wrong way but do not force it.
