FJ or BJ Drivers Seats. whats the story

it seams very hard for me to find an original FJ or BJ drivers seat prefferably late model. i thought everyone upgraded the seats so there would be plenty around but it seams they toss them out at the tip!

they may be a collectors item soon

Re: just a few questions about my 40 series.

I've got 2 fj40s and I'm running 38s on both with stock running gear for several years. The bias ply 40 does get it's bearings wreck faster and there is a little extra wear an tear on them both but that's a small price to pay. I also crack speeds of 150 and do freeway driving. Don't be soft! lol 35s ...

does anyone know if you can get a 16inch rim thats 12inches wide?

I have looked at the following sites and they only do a max 10inch wide

- American Eagle Alloys
- Eagle Alloys
- ROH wheels

De lux. the motors are cheap but the conversion is not easy. much easier and faster to do a Gen 1 or similar. but i think it is worth while to keep a Toyota all Toyota

Have ran a few different setups in mine, and have finished up with a really good ride, but the bodyroll took a bit of getting used to. First setup was 4" dobinsons leafs, 2" etxended shackles (ok shackle angle, but not ideal), and skyjacker shocks. This rode better then when i first got it, but ...

Shocks will do nothing with stiff leaf springs, you could probably pull them out all together and not really feel a difference. Get your springs working, then the shocks will work. Change them then if needed. You got a pic of your rear shackle angle? yeah checked them last night. stock and vertical ...

great thanks guys. i was hoping there might be a simpler answer to get around it but by the sounds of things to improve the ride in an old truck you got to do a few mods front and back and bring it up to 21st century engineering :)

yeah that sounds like the right option. reversal may be a rego/engineering hassle but relocating them on an angle and taking a leaf or 2 out sounds like the first step. cheers i also need to keep the handling as it will have over 500hp. I am putting the engine together now. a Toyota 4 litter quad ...

yeah coils are the way to go but in keeping it as stock as possible for restoration i was wondering if it would be worth the money to get new leaf springs or if they are all hard as sh%t.

or can you take a single leaf out to soften the ride? anyone done this?

ive been driving round for 3 months in a stock FJ40 with 36x15.5 on 15x12 rims. no lift no nothing.... jsut some rear guard trimming :) it rubs at the same degree of steering as the 35x12.5s did so i actualy didnt loose any turning circle. its a low fat and wide on road 40. so 33's should be sweet.
