I had mine mounted behind the panel in the left hand side of the cargo area. Plenty of room for the pressure tank as well. I believe a rear aircon unit usually goes in there for the arab countries. I had the outlet and pressure gauge behind the skinny little cover at the back...............Pete! ;)

GU Problems

Not having a good run with my '05 4.2TDI ute. Problem No 1: Pulled off the highway on a grass verge to do a u-turn. Bit of a rise onto the highway so gave it a bit to get on top without spinning wheels and the left rear trailing arm bent like a banana, deadset 45+ degrees straight up. Had to pull it ...

Hi RR85, Can i ask why the Bogard timer is different? Don't they all do the same job or is the Bogard a plug in jobbie. Not being a smartarse, just interested to know that's all. Nissan told me you had to have some special plug in job only available from them.....at some ridiculous price of course ...

Don't you mean 1-5-3-6-2-4 Layto??? The rotor should rotate clockwise. If you don't know what stroke compression is, then drop a plug out and hold your finger over the hole. You will soon see when it is on compression. If you have the rocker cover off, both the front tappets should be rocking....ie ...

Yep, had the same problem with mine. If you get a plug in turbo timer from nissan it will apparently fix the problem. Mine is a 2005 4.2 TDI coilcab ute. I have an aftermarket timer and after numerous runins with nissan over it, i cut the wires at the sub tank pump, removed the sub tank switch and ...

Exhaust on GU ute.

Hi all, I am putting a 3" exhaust on my ute complete with 3" dump pipe. I am going to run twin stacks on it. My question is, after i split the system to go up behind the cab does it still need to be 3" or can i use twin pipes the same size as standard. The reason is i will have to move the tray back ...

Is there any benefit to fitting an intercooler fan to a 4.2 TDI GU patrol? If so, would it be best fitted under the intercooler or on top. I'm tossing up whether it is worth the effort!

"White" smoke. Is it an auto??? I remember some holden auto's had a vacuum operated diaphram between the auto and the intake that would perish and suck up auto tranny fluid under high revs. They would blow gobs of "White" smoke and run like a dog. I may be way off the mark here but it's worth the ...
