I wonder if you know what your talking about!!!!!!!!!! So if you beleive i dont how about you tell us different????? Hilux and Cruiser 40's, 50"s, 60's & 70's up to 1990 had the same CV's. The later 70's had a reinforcing rib around the out side edge of the outer but the inner bits are vertually ...

So bisicaly you are saying exactly what i said but you have gone into more detail. But it looks to me that you beleive a stock 80series CV is stronger than a LONGFIELD or a C.O.R.E cv? What size tyre are you looking at , a simple fix is to redrill the centre bolt hole in the spring saddle on the diff housing and the saddle plate you can get and easy 40mm forward which is good for up to 37" tyres. That is with a 2" body lift.

if the coil you are talking about is the small compact type bosch these fail if the vehicle is running LPG the feed for the gas safety switch kills them if you want a good coil get the one from a VL Commodore V8 (these have a high tension lead commection that looks like a spark plug terminal) or a ...

4.8:1 for sure
all petrol hiluxs had 4.8:1 diffs
2.2 diesels had 4.8:1 diffs
2.4 diesels had 4.5:1 diffs
2.8 diesels had 4.3:1 diffs
