But it looks to me that you beleive a stock 80series CV is stronger than a LONGFIELD or a C.O.R.E cv?

350 2 bolt SBC re drilled and tapped for 4 bolt steel splayed main caps,
Vanolia custom crank and H beam rods of custom leingh.
Custom Ross pistons bringing it up to 403 cubes.
Alot of trick machine work and internals, roller cam to custom specs ect ect. Alloy heads with tripple ...

454 stocky , say about 400 to 450 HP !!!
350 , stroked , alloy headed , + other bits & pieces !!
on the dyno , above 500 HP !!!!!!!!!


then the weight factor ....

Sorry but i push a button on my dash and the stabilister is released and when on the black top push the button and its ther again. I designed this system for me and only me ...

75 series CVs are the same size as the 40 ones. And HZJ75 ones are only just larger but not worth the hassel. 80series are larger again but not by enough again to make the conversion worth while.

You can now buy strengthened CVs to suit your 40 localy up here in Brisbane that have a lifetime ...

What size tyre are you looking at , a simple fix is to redrill the centre bolt hole in the spring saddle on the diff housing and the saddle plate you can get and easy 40mm forward which is good for up to 37" tyres. That is with a 2" body lift.

if the coil you are talking about is the small compact type bosch these fail if the vehicle is running LPG the feed for the gas safety switch kills them if you want a good coil get the one from a VL Commodore V8 (these have a high tension lead commection that looks like a spark plug terminal) or a ...

4.8:1 for sure
all petrol hiluxs had 4.8:1 diffs
2.2 diesels had 4.8:1 diffs
2.4 diesels had 4.5:1 diffs
2.8 diesels had 4.3:1 diffs
