Thermo fans on a 75 series
G'day, I am thinking of putting a thermo fan/s on my 75 series ute, can anyone here tell me, 1: what size is best for the job? 2: is it best to have them on a switch/temp controlled or on all the time? (I was thinking of having a switch anyway for water crossing) 3: do you know of anyone selling ...

Thanks for your replies fellas, I'll start with the Fan clutch (cos its the easiest) then a Radiator flush & work back. I replaced the radiator because when I took it in for the 150k service to a mate of mine he pressure tested everything and he exchanged the radiator, thermostat was changed at the ...

Overheating 75 series
G'day, I searched for about an hour looking for a post about overhearting problems someone had with a 75 series cruiser (1HZ) & couldn't find it so here we go again.... It is fine around town but on the highway it overheats & I remember someone saying about the fan clutch and how it shouldn't matter ...

2 things I have been told, if you can start it without glowing first thing in the morning and it fires straight away, its direct injected & the 1HD-T will slot straight into a yota where a 1HZ was but the 1HD-FE you have to muck around a bit because some of the components are on the other side. I ...

"Well, the more i think about it, cost will play a part. Just at the few Cruisers i have looked at now, i cant believe that they are still mostly over 10grand, even for older stock standard ones..." Gives you an idea of resale, a lot better for the cruiser if you want to upgrade, if you want a pure ...

Toli, a few years ago I was on a trip, 92 GXL 80TD 5hrs from home when my amber light flashed for a second, then again & again every so often, I rang my BIL who was a Toyo mech He said to sneak it home & if it stayed on, pull over, turn it off & ring him, that was a while ago, it got increasingly ...

Q for Quick 60
Hey Quick60, in an older post about oils, you mention an oil ULX-110 that you use in your 1HD-T & they make a great gear oil too...
Q- what is the brand of this oil & what is the name of the gear oil.

how many km? full timers can suffer from front diff noise as early as 150,000km but more common at 200,000+ - first step would be drive in 4th/5th to see if the noise is the same or different to isolate the gearbox as a source, then lock in the centre diff and drive on the front only, then the rear ...
