If I buy a second hand 3.5 from a '93 disco (had LT77),
will it bolt straight into my '89 rangie that has
an R380 box behind it?
-I want to keep the R380 in the car

Can you keep up high revs for a period of time, even with no load,
or does it stave out?
Not getting enough high fuel flow?

Thanks all for your input, a guy here said he's had the same happen 3 times,
only when really cold (which it was.. -1) with his 3.5.
"It's flooded and you have to wait a day minimum or get it out."

I pulled all the plugs (which were all covered in fuel), pulled the fuel pump
fuse and cranked it ...

It wouldn't idle unless it had some throttle.
Could the cold start injector be putting in too much fuel?

I don't - Everything's a little dirty in the whole body for my liking
(residue. my maintenance squedule has been a little lax).

Will it run without the airflow meter connected while I'm trouble shooting?

No I'm not, I've just started playing with everything now, I'll check those
next. Forgot to mention it gets a flooded smell though, so it's getting fuel.

Would only idle cold for a couple of minutes then start to fade away until
it would stall. Would not idle warmed up. If you ran the car for only a
couple of minutes then turned it off, it would run like a basket case for
the next few minutes.
Now it wont start... I started it ...

Dude- if the truck is goin to get knocked about, dont go
to heaps of trouble like going back to bare metal, And if
you want to do touch ups ect at home dont get 2pac. If
it's easy to get the original white, stick with that (will match
door jams/ under bonet ect.) or get the closest white
from a ...

Theres a disco engine for sale in miscellaneous... Buy that and rip out the rockers??? All else fails, change the whole thing

4th quickest and I had to do a three point turn on
the left hander because we had a left hand lock problem

Go to an automotive paint store, not super cheap or bunnings,
tell them what your after and your budget and go from there.

Sounds like your after a good rub back, possibly patch up the
worst spots, a good clean, undercoat/prime and hit it!
Remember, light colours/white hide marks, but keeping ...

I thought any exaust exiting ahead of the rear wheels was a no-no...
If your engine craps out, it will oil the rear tyre/s then your farrkt

And if you have a wagon/panel of sorts, it has to come out the side so
if you leave the rear window open it wont suck in fumes My 2c

should be ok... double check all the labels,
to be extra safe, let the killrust totally dry/set
before you attempt to cover it with the colour

Can you just leave the thermostat out and try it first?

I use Star S770 guns made by Toolex for acrylic lacquer and enamels.

They are a high pressure gun with a 1lt. pot, mine also has an air pressure adjuster under the trigger (very handy). Some 770's dont.

get the lever in from the back,
hooked to the front of the rim,
with the tyre/wheel standing up.
With the tyre lever at the highest point,
flip it right over the tread and it will start peeling.
proceed to hit the rest of with the mallet.... or grinder :D

Depends on your budget more than anything...
work out what your going to spend and then work
out the best most capable vehicle within your range.
You did say you'd like to do it up later, I don't know
much about the rocsta, but the availability of stuff to
do it up might get tricky :? Others ...

Kinda defeats the purpose of the belt,
