Re: Will Engels work on 24v ?

What model engel is it?

Sorry, should have said that before. It's a 32l fridge/freezer 12/240v number. Model MT35FP.

I just looked at the Engel website and it says it can run on 12, 24 and 240v, but the plug still says 12v only. Does this mean I may have to get a 24v lead?

Will Engels work on 24v ?

As per the topic. I am thinking of putting the fridge into my work truck but after making room I realised that the ciggy socket is 24v. My phone charger and GPS seem to work OK but I'm a bit suss about the fridge. I know it says 12v on the plug but can it run happily on 24v?

Cheers,
VB

MK Triton Rear passenger side door. Where to get 1.

About 4 weeks ago a 80yo farmer backed into my ute while picking up some grain. The corner of his tray punched a hole through the skin of the door. Thankfully only the door need replacing.

Problem is I can't find a white door bloody anywhere. I've rung wreckers from Dubbo to Sydney every week but ...

GPS keeps falling off windscreen

My Tom Tom keeps falling off the windscreen. I've tried cleaning the glass, warming the suction pad, pushing it on until the glass starts to bow out. Whats the trick. My Magellan XL600 sticks fine but not the Tom Tom.

The socket where the power lead goes into it at the bottom is starting to get ...

I use it all the time. White Knight is my preferred brand but it's horses for sourses. It gets sprayed on all my made up farm gear and ute mods. As said before build it up because it can run and look pretty crappy if put on too thickly.

You can spray or paint but I have found spraying is easier and ...

Can you re-charge home alkaline batteries?

Being a parent I have about 30 or so batteries lying around in drawers from the kids toys, mainly AA's. Is there anyway I can do a dodgy (or not dodgy) charge back into them.

My stepfather used to do it on a car battery by bridging across the circuit until the little battery got hot. now that i'm ...

It's due for a 150,000 service and new injectors next week from Mitsubishi so I'll ask them.

Then again they might say go to hell because I do my own oil changes and not give them the chance to rip me off on the price they charge for workshop oil. :finger:

I am going to lecture you.
If you can't change both oil and filter, rather change the filter every time and the oil every second time.

The 4m40 and 4m41 engines have a oil cooler in the engine block, but it should drain (albeit slowly) if the filter is removed.

Some models have a supplementary ...

Engine oil capacity question

I change the oil at 5000 interval and new filter at 10,000 ( I know i should do the filter every 5000 so don't lecture me  ). My 4m40 needs 5.5 litres for just sump. 6.5 for filter as well and another 1.3 for the oil cooler.

My question is: where is the oil cooler and how do I change the oil ...

the 'wilson switch' is a push button activation of the glow circuit which usually just bypasses the glow timer..

i was under the impression that glow plugs only need about 7v to do their job and any higher and you risk damaging them... so if your running 12v through your glow plugs id be careful ...

Slightly off topic.........sorry, but if veggies oils clean all the crap out of your lines can I dump some in my tank every 20k or so to flush and clean out the fuel system? It may do a better job than my regular "Chemtech" dose.

Leave the sleeve on. It sets up a vortex in the air filter housing, throwing dust to the outside of the housing and keeping your filter cleaner. All canister type airfilters use this kind of thing to improve the efficiency of the filter.

As an aside are you sure the element still seals with the ...

Car is a 1998 MK Triton 2.8 non-turbo with no snorkel. I have quite put a few tanks through it and getting about 60ks extra or thereabouts. Usually I get about 600ks out of a tank so the 10% (give or take) claim I'll stick by.

Power wise it feels like there is more power but who knows. Face it, I ...

Here it is with the sleeve off. Whenever it gets really clogged up the part with the sleeve on is clean which makes me think it's not doing anything anyway. I know it's supposed to set a swirl to throw off bigger objects but I think I can do without it.
