My Rocky's For Sale - 1993 Turbo

Hey everyone, It's come to that time where my beloved Rock has to go. I've started doing 700+km a week and needed a ute for work, so bought a TD Hilux. A lot of you may know my car, but if not here are some details. It was featured in Australian 4WD Action Custom Guide last year. Up for sale is my ...

If you're going to spend a bit of cash to make it capable offroad, I would look into putting some Hilux or similar diffs under it to open up alternate gearings and also lockers. The lack of gearing options for Rocky diffs will make tyre sizes stay small, and no lockers, well enough said! I ...

In a diesel, why would you lower the compression ratio? It's definately a completely different ball game to a petrol motor! Also, if you don't use the injector pump with boost compensator, your fuel-air ratio will either run rich off boost or too lean on boost, depending on which you tune it for ...

You can still get them genuine from Toyota, but I would cringe at the asking price.

As said, nothing will bolt up easily to the Roza 1600 000. :D

And in regards to your title, the turbo off a rocky does not bolt up and would probably not be suitable anyway.

The fibreglass hard top is in average condition but with a small expense you can purchase a soft top or bikini top from most daihatsu wreckers.

Lower Contol Arm Bushes, F78?

Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone has replaced the rearmost bush in the rear, lower control arm on a coil spring Rocky? I have tried genuine and they only list the complete arm, in which I'd probably have to swap for my arm and leg, and nolathane do not even list the F78 in thier catalogue. Does ...

What was the issue with the original engine fan? One of the worst options is to throw this away as soon as a heating problem is encountered. A stock fitted engine driven fan in most cases works a hell of a lot better than an aftermarket thermatic one. You may as well look into replacing the water ...

Just a related question: If I put a bigger tires, would an increase of 2" in diameter push the axle up ward, say by 1", therefore making it more horizontal and less strained? No, it won't change your suspension geometry by fitting bigger tyres. If you want more downtravel, you have to space the ...

I have been using a 2 Stage Unifilter for a couple of years now, and in MY case, the intake after the airbox has LESS buildup of particles than when using standard paper filters. mmm loads of options i see, Easiest option is to put up with it :D Extending bump stops is by far the easiest option, but you will limit the amount of uptravel you are getting. I've looked at the ball joints on the Rocky's and don't think it is easy or possible to flip or space them very easily.

I use -23mm wheels and it hits on the inside of the flare, so spacing outwards is not an option for curing a rubbage issue.

Contacting on the inner guard is a good effort, mine didn't seem to go close at all when I had stock wheels on.

Not really, you don't gain any more travel with HD torsion bars. The only thing is they have a heavier spring rate, would COULD stop it from compressing up as far, but not likely.

There is a bit of stuffing around with shifters, fuel filler lines, bumpers some vacuum lines, radiator hoses and steering column if you go too high, but all can be overcome eventually. Bullbar AND rear bumper will need to be moved up to suit the lift. The big question is, why do you want the extra ...
