Re: 1fz engine whine

My vote is with the alternator, mine has been doing this for years still works fine have a spare for if and when it goes. It has been suggested that the alternator has stainless slip rings and that is the noise they make apparently some EA falcons made the same noise and they had ss slip rings.

Re: 1FZ-FE Problems

Could possibly be the gas control module playing up. Check all the electrical connections might have a poor connection or corrosion. Switch off the gas so it doesn't try to change over automaticaly and see if it will then keep running on petrol.

I just sprayed some CRC Contact Cleaner in mine, that was a few months ago and it's still going. Also clean the throttle body out with some carbie cleaner and a tooth brush. There is a chance that you will keep locking rear brakes all the time even with light pedal application and lose front brake effeciency without one. Try and find a similar master cylinder with an internal prop valve or get an adjustable prop valve and set it up the brake balance

Check the fusible links at the battery, looks like normal wire but has a push together terminal only a short distance from the battery post. Usual colours green, yellow or white, colour dictates fuse amperage.

There is no way I would ever use copper for brake lines it will not withstand the line pressure. Most steel bundy tube used for for brake lines is copper coated (resists corrosion) and depending on the type of flare nut used will dictate the type of flair. Most reputable brake places will make steel ...
