I'll dig out the date when the gears were first designed. Lets see if anyone else brings out another ratio like 44% reduction. There are gears advertised for suzuki with a reduction of 170%. This is utter crap. It is a physical impossibility to fit that reduction into a standard suzuki trnsfer case ...

The transfers do run straight through so you can't change high range.
You can in 40 & 60 series landcruisers because they are gear driven in high range. Suzuki is also gear driven in high range. 80 series is also gear driven in high range but gears are only made to change the low range ratio.

No transfer case mods will be needed. The gears are almost the same size as original. I thought these could be cheaper at the start but numbers aren't enough to bring the set up costs down. Also the steel price rises in the last 12 months are running above 40% and 70% over the last 2 years.

No, don't work at Mark's. I am a gearbox and gear designer. Did the original design for the Nissan low range gears for Mark's which rockhopper copied. We of course have a backlash eliminator same as the factory gears. The new 44% will have a backlash eliminator too. I have had 2nd thoughts about the ...

BA-BF Falcon V8 into GQ Patrol; Anyone Attempted?

Has anyone looked into fitting the current model Falcon V8 into a GQ-GU Patrol?
Maybe the width of the motor is a hassle?
Any info appreciated.

Calcs

The Gears are a completely new manufactured set. To get the ratio you work out from numbers of teeth. Input Gear 27 Teeth driving idler gear with 36 teeth. On the other part of the idler is a 20 tooth gear which drives onto a 43 tooth output gear. 27T x 20T divide this by 36T x 43T All this ...

Nissan Low Range Gears

Is there anyone out there with a GQ or Gu Patrol that thinks they could use a low range ratio 24% lower than standard? If you have 35" tyres you need 15% lower to bring you back to standard so 24% is just that bit lower with 35" tyres. ****Follow up to above**** There are 2 new Nissan ratios coming ...
