Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Well had to go to the Mrs Xmas party and got home at 11pm. Was hanging to try again and get the head off. Tried using both the rear and front pry points and thought no luck, went around the head with wood and a 4lb hammer. Didnt think it was budging, so then got the screwdriver and GENTLY tepped it ...

well we worked out the problem with the 4 runner

the guy who owned it before pulled apart the hubs and didnt put them back on properly. now they are fixed i shall see how good my mate drives and car really is.

yay for outer limits! drinks on me...

i did some work experiance at northside truck rebushing and welding. they did heaps of QR stuff they took apart the rockys with the train wheels ect. being the work experience kid i got to pull the rams of the wheels ect. good time and i learnt something...i didnt want to be a diesel mechanic... not ...

sounds something i can do, thanks mate.

maybe there are no CV's was the drive shaft turning? if it wasnt then its your transfer. If it was turning then I would imagine either the CV's are gone or your locking hubs arnt working. if the diff was blown it would be making noise. so check CV's or transfer case or the locking hubs. the diff ...

in that case, are you 100% sure that both hubs were totaly engaged in the 'lock'/'4x4' position? it only takes one to be not fully engaged for 4wd to not work.

yeah i doubled checked them and everything

most(maybe even all, im yet to see dif, but i may be wrong) of the ifs luxs/4runners are autohubs. they engage automaticaly if you stick the little level in 4low, and if in hi-range they engage if you hit the button on the side of the lever. my mates lux has a prob where it only goes into 4wd 40 ...

Well as you might recall I had a mate just by a 4runner 92' 2.8 diesel. We went mud bashing on thursday arvo after work and got a bit stuck. When we were getting out i noticed the backs where spinning but not the fronts and that was when we were sitting still ie. stuck. We had the hubs locked ect ...

just read someone used cat diesel oil, where would one get this from?

i use either penrite or castrol oil at the moment, so just wondering do you have to work at Hastings Deerings or a mob like that to get it or can you but it somewhere?

just a question with ARB air diff locks. being the only air locker i know of would they fit in a xr6/8 ute. due to having a locked diff being dangerous in the wet if your are unexperianced so unlocking and locking would be handy. i cant afford either the diff locker or the ute but just a question ...

just a quick question about diesel does anyone tend to find that when you use diesel from Shell that it smokes a tiny bit more then when you use BP Diesel? i did read that Bp has done somthing with the sulfer content which couses the smoke. my ute hardly smokes, its well tuned, but i just find the ...

just wondering whats the law in reguards to exhaust pipes? must the go all the way to the back of the car/ute. i have a diesel and got bored so i took off the back half, so theres no muffler ect, it ends just after the cab. so will i be expecting a fine if i get pulled up? oh yeah its dam loud you ...

just to inform you, we got the rodeo fully fixed up and we are now getting about 500km per take. once agian thats towing 800kg give or take.

hey dude we have a 4cyl turbo diesel one at work, it hauls ass i must say. we tow 800 kgs plus on a trailer and tray so yeah about 300km per tank so kinda thrusty but good for that weight i guess. the only thing is we were having some turbo problems and over heating problems when we got up to 120km ...
