Well had to go to the Mrs Xmas party and got home at 11pm. Was hanging to try again and get the head off. well we worked out the problem with the 4 runner

the guy who owned it before pulled apart the hubs and didnt put them back on properly. now they are fixed i shall see how good my mate drives and car really is.

yay for outer limits! drinks on me...

maybe there are no CV's was the drive shaft turning? if it wasnt then its your transfer. If it was turning then I would imagine either the CV's are gone or your locking hubs arnt working. if the diff was blown it would be making noise. so check CV's or transfer case or the locking hubs. the diff ...

in that case, are you 100% sure that both hubs were totaly engaged in the 'lock'/'4x4' position? it only takes one to be not fully engaged for 4wd to not work.

most(maybe even all, im yet to see dif, but i may be wrong) of the ifs luxs/4runners are autohubs. they engage automaticaly if you stick the little level in 4low, and if in hi-range they engage if you hit the button on the side of the lever. my mates lux has a prob where it only goes into 4wd 40 ...

just a question with ARB air diff locks. being the only air locker i know of would they fit in a xr6/8 ute. due to having a locked diff being dangerous in the wet if your are unexperianced so unlocking and locking would be handy. i cant afford either the diff locker or the ute but just a question ...

hey dude we have a 4cyl turbo diesel one at work, it hauls ass i must say. we tow 800 kgs plus on a trailer and tray so yeah about 300km per tank so kinda thrusty but good for that weight i guess. the only thing is we were having some turbo problems and over heating problems when we got up to 120km ...
