thinking of building some rear drawers for my shorty, want them to be removable, just want to get any tips, tricks or advice on how to build, where to buy the gear and whatever else before i got stuck into it...

been the proud owner of a SWB GQ for a few years, but its getting a bit small and thinking of upgrading...
i have been looking around at navaras, but i dont know too much about them.
I want turbo diesel, dual cab, but want to spend under 20k, hopefully more towards the 15k.

i think that all GQ are electronic speedos... i could be wrong.
but with mine... i brought a marks adapters speedo corrector. Couldnt be easier to install, plug and play basically.
If you wanna save some coin and you've got a bit of knowledge, go to jaycar and buy a speedo correction unit off them ...

well i dont know if it gave too much air, the car didnt get anymore performance. It sucks pretty good.
In regards to cutting the hole bigger, you could either tack weld some plate behind the hole, or even just screw some wood in, it only needs hold the arba (think thats how its spelt) in place. But ...

i got the same set up as you, brought a SWB with a 2" OME, put a body lift in, took about 4 hours with a mate. Pretty simple job.
i used nylon blocks, brought it off a guy on ebay, if you do a search for 'gasdrx', im sure he still does them. His from lilydale in melb and i think he does them ...

Cost of a/c compressor on GQ
hey all...
got my a/c re-gassed and it seems to be leaking from my compressor. Got quoted $500 for the compressor (new) and $200 to install.
Wondering if anybody has similar quotes or know of where to buy a cheaper new or reco compressor? Im in the melbourne area.
