Yeah that sounds like it might be the problem. My old battery kept going flat a little while ago and I replaced it thinking that was the problem. So now I'm thinking it was the alternator.
And that explains the pinging and general rough running of the car?

Well all i know is its been pinging quote alot at start up and running really rough. I had the carby looked at not to long ago and hey said it was fine... Hey guys...Im looking at getting some bigger tyres for my short wheel patrol. Just wondering whether people would think that 33's would fit under a patrol with 2 inches of spring lift and 30mm spring spacers...so basically just over 3 inches of lift...
