Re: ERPS wiring

when i bought a retail kit it came with a pad with one wire only, but when i installed it i didn't do a 'ring' i just sent one wire front and one wire back. the extra wire i put heatshrink over and filled the end with silicone so it didn't short out on anything.

not 4x4 tech, holden viva stalling issue

guys, my wifes 06 holden viva is sometimes stalling when idling. i think it is either the auto choke or the electronic stepper motor that controls the throttle butterfly that is jamming. it will only do this intermitently, is not temperature dependent, and will mostly clear if the car is restarted ...

we use 12v trailer brake units on our trucks at work. we centre tap the 24v batteries to get 12v (that way you have lots of amps to play with) we then use a redarc charge equaliser to keep the batteries SOC even.

a 12v30A relay costs about $10, do it right, you will destroy your wiring and existing relay if you try to double up on the one circuit.

the wires that connect into the back of the loom plug at the temp sensor end have a tendency to harden from vibration and crack clean through, this happened to me and all it took was to strip back each broken bit and rejoin.

or use the stereo ignition wire to run another small (say 10 or 15A) relay that acts as a follower relay. then use the contacts on this relay to drive your other ignition switched solenoids.

what size charge equaliser do you have? the cable on the charge equaliser are the minimum size they need to be for current carry capacity only. the cables are short, for mounting in an engine bay or next to the batteries in a truck. the bigger units can pull up to 30 Amps on the 24v side, they need ...

also 24v vehicles from factory run a beesdick smaller cable for everything. when you drop to 12v you double you current on every cable, not so significant for the small things but lighting looms (front and rear) may not fair so well.
