Go the 308 :D

My 350 chev is about to be dropped in and I'm feeling like Big Kev.. A rebuilt TB42 just wouldn't give you the same buzz (or probs :? )

That's why I opted for the 350 chev instead.. There were no diesels available at the right price at that time, and all those with experience fitting them were charging an arm and a leg.

I've also heard from others down south that they've been quoted $20K+ for the same conversion.

I picked up an injected 350 chev inc. computer, air con, power steering, wiring loom, etc + turbo 700 for $3500 for my GQ SWB.. It's not in yet so I can't comment on how it goes.. Transfer Adaptors/Engine mounts are available for these from Marks.

I had the same problem when figuring out the suspension for my SWB, and couldn't decide between the two, so I chose a 5" suspension lift :)

I did a calculation on mine out of interests sake and came up at 2390.. You might want to consider expanding the limits for the classes a tad, as whilst I can accept that I'd end up in that class, that's a long way over the limit..

Quicktime, but Media player works as well.. Some machines seem to be set-up to download the entire video before it'll play them.. They're about 2MB each so on a modem connection it can take a while..

GU to GQ axle swap

I am considering replacing my gq axle assemblies (disc to disc) with GU ones. Is there anything I need to consider with this or is it just a straight forward swap with maybe a new steering arm on the front?

I'm not sure what you have priced a GQ for but there are some great deals around.. I picked up a GQ shorty a few weeks back (auto, factory rear diff lock, overhead console, 4.2 petrol) in good condition for $6K.. Only probs were 1 dead door hinge, 1 dead shock, small crack in windscreen, and a ...
