Hey the gearbox needs to come out of my swb nh but cant be is to long with the transfer still attached does anyone know which section to unbolt?? or does it matter if i do either one?? thanks..

I think the normal procedure it to separate from the engine, slide back to disengage the input shaft, drop the front and slide forward again.

It's all quite heavy. My regular mechanic refused the job because he didn't have the right equipment. Another mechanic (who's a Pajero expert) separated the transfer case without removing the gearbox. Apparently it's a two person job to get it back together again - one inside the vehicle playing with linkages while another underneath moves the transfer into place.
