how do i get the drum break off to clean inside??

1 Put the rear of the car on jack stands, with the front wheels chocked.
2 unbolt the rear wheel,
3 Make sure if the hand brake is on the diff (not on the T Case) that it isnt pulled up
4 may have to tap the drum as you pull it off.
5 put it back together same way

Its not a hard job but If your not confident in doing this at least get someone to help you that has some idea what they are doing.

why are you wanting to clean them out.........been in the mud or something else?

i took the wheel off and undid the 4 bolts in the centre but the drum still didnt come off. is it just stuck on?

you got the 4 bolts that hold the drum on the axle, that are on the inside of the wheel studs?

Check your hand brake is not pulled up?

Might need a tap with a hammer and some wiggling!

Probably you will need to put the rim & tyre back on.
Remove the 4 nuts and washers on the axle flange in the center and use the rim and tyre as a kind of slide hammer.

MAKE SURE NO ONE IS UNDER THE CAR and there is no chance of the car hurting someone if it comes off the stands.

yep hand brake is off and bolts are undone
so it should just come off now?

ok ive got them off and clean
now i cant get them back on
the brakes were pushed while the drum was off if that makes any difference. the pads seem to be pushed out bigger than the diametre of the drum

any help?
