Rangies are fairly agricultural so any reasonable quality motor oil will do, ZF auto will last better if you use synthetic .
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

I've heard warnings about using GL5 EP oils in places with bronze bushings.

I recently filled my swivel joints up with that, so I guess I'm the gineau pig.

The extreme pressure (EP) additives in most GL5 oils can corrode phosphor-bronze components in some gearboxes. In these cases GL4 oils should be used. Landie T-cases have no or nearly no phosphor bronze components - the manual boxes do, but I have never seen any problems on the boxes I have pulled apart.

I have had an LT95 with EP used in the transfer. The thrust washers were eaten away.
Do not do it with an LT95.
20-50 Engine oil is specified for gearbox and transfer in this case.

How about the CV bush in the front swivel joints?
