LOGAN NIGHT RUN FEB 2007
Moderator: evanstaniland
hahaha.. that reminds me.. about a month ago we made up "G- a-y Pride" and "I blow Goats" stickers on the brother p touch at work.. stuck em on a mates car...back windscreen and rear bumper.. he drives a big yellow F truck.. he came back to work after a week off, and still had the stickers on it. Man was he pissed. But damn was funny shit.
Just got home. A good run (from what I saw). About 15 finishers. Not exactly sure of how many started. I think it was about 25 or 30.
On a sad note, we unfortunately had a serious rollover. A nice and BRAND NEW built 80 Series ute. I'm told that both occupants are fine, but the vehicle is in need of some serious TLC. But, as the saying goes. 'Cars can be replaced.....'
Anyway, should find out exact placings tomorrow, and post them up!!

Sorry to hear Johnny. I wasn't involved with the recovery, as I was manning a checkpoint. But, I know Shane raced home to grab his chainsaw so they could remove the tree that was causing all the dramas as far as getting it back to ugly side down again. Also pretty sure that Darren and Starky and those guys were there helping with the recovery.
Mate, I really feel for you guys. You've done a nice job on the 80, and now it's looking like a write off. Not good news.
How's Barb feeling today? Is she OK?
(I guess I should ask how Whitey is, but.......... naaah!! )

we were never gunna go to the end with Jasons car..not exactly road friendly to drive on the last section of highway and the halfway point of the run was right near his house so we finished there...also i broke the engine mount on my car so it was double reason to finish there

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
Thanks to all who helped recover my vehicle it was much appreciated.
Special thanks to Shane S, Whitey, Starky and Darren and also the Barcode boys who hung around to make sure we got out safely.
And an EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS to Will and Cass for getting out of bed to come and get us and also the TJM boy's for the use of their trailer.
And to let you know it was not Whitey's navvying or my driving that was at fault. We had a mechanical problem which locked my steering. The car is salvageable and I am hoping to be back on the road soon.
Up until that point I had lots of fun and thought it was a great night and would love to do another night run.

Godd to hear you're OK Barb.
My comment about Whitey was only in jest. He knows what I'm like, and trust me, he gives more than he gets. Sorry if it sounded like I was blaming him.
I'm glad the truck's looking salvagable, and we hope to see you on a few more runs real soon.

Every obstical worth driving has an element of risk, without risk there can be no glory!
Roll Over
Barb,
Glad to hear you are okay, if need a good Chiropracter I know of a good one (I am involved in Health, Safety and Rehab) and know how imporatant it is to get some good help. No affiliation blah, blah, blah.
I am also glad to hear the mighty 80 is salvagable, because it means I will see it again and get some more ideas on roll cage construction considering yours is the best I have seen (and obviously works).
Hope to see you out and about shortly.
Cheers,
Dwayne

I'll be the one needing Rehab after I rebuild Barbs Truck "I reckon it'll take at least a pallet of beer to get it back on the tracks"
