'06 Suzuki GV ... Soft Roader :(
The dune is pretty decent looking. I know of a group of people in Aus. who are fabricating their own to look similar.
Once the new GV has been around for a little longer things will start to come out more and more. I would love to see a larger lift. Unfortunately its not the up and down space limiting bigger tires its the side to side while turning.
I run 255/70/R16 with the lift and I get a slight rubbing when i crank the wheel all the way. It rubs on the plastic flap under the front bumper.

Thanks Metatrox ... When I hae my GV lifted (2" Suspension + the Rocky Road Kit) it will have a total lift of 4 1/8 Inches! ... Looking forward to it

coatesy : The 255/70/R16's in ym opinion are perfect. Like I said there is a slight rub if you fully crank your wheel but I hardly ever do that so I dont ever have it rub and as mentioned you could easily trim just little bit of that plastic flap and elimimate the problem.
Also Fordy, You should work on some skid plates.

i had 225 75 r16s on my old 2L and they wre 6.5 wide and i would not go any wider on that rim, i would replace them but not with s#@t sunrasia's ( they only look good on old 4bs)
Went out to the Watagan State Forest this weekend and had a REALLY close call ...
We were heading down towards Wyong on the "Dry Weather Only" road, and we came to a large but of standing water. brianstevens went through with his Jimny forst and got stuck about two thirds through it. He was able to get it out though my shuffling aroung a bit and turning to the left to the lock.
I want through second and thought I'd hit it with a little bit of speed ... See picture below:
I got through the water ... and got out to look back, feeling pretty good that I'd made it all the way through and then went back to the car, only to find it had stalled.
I tried turning it over ... it was cranking but nothing happened. So I opened up the bonet and opened the air box and my air filer and the box underneath was FULL OF WATER!!.
I pulled the filter out and drained the water from the box. I then removed the air hose from the engine intake and there was water all the way through it. I emptied out the air hose and dried up what I could, and mopped up the traces of water on the engine intake ... then put it back together minus the filter.
Took about 45 seconds of cranking before it finally caught. I revved it for anout 30 seconds and then pressed on.
It was making a horible rubbing noise for a kilometre or two, but it worked itself out ...
I cleaned the whole thing up when I got home (300Km's Later) and installed my spare air filter.
Seems to be running ok ... it was stalling out a few times ... but that's getting better.
Was a really scary situation to be in ... and I think I'm going to have my snorkel fitted sooner rather than later!!
The only thing out of the ordinary now is that when I get to 60km/h or over there is a whine coming from the Drivetrain ... It's not the Engine or the Gearbox ... so I'm not sure what's causing that ...
The upside is that the car now seems to have worked itself out ... (aside from the whine) ...
I think I might take it a little easier and not destroy a new car with 5000Km on the clock ... Was a fun weekend though

you would have been fin in any other zook but yours has the straw at the front so when you rev it, it sucks the air straight in ( in your case the water that you splashed up!!, )
I have been out many times in my old vitara and had the water level with the wipers and have had no problems ( no straw sucking here )

once the snorkel is fitted you should be fine for the same hole and skid plates will also limit the amout of water that enters the engine bay when you go splashing about

I've got it booked in at Suzuki on Wednesday just to check it out ...
I'd be interested in the skid plates as I've already ripped off all the plastic guards from under the engine bay ... so now there's no protection at all.
Are these easily obtainable??
I guess it's still possible that I could have done some damage to the engine ... but it does sound and feel ok ... so I'm hoping it's all good.
