generally no, but front works well to get the car to drive out of the rut in order to get off the track. i found most of the time all wheels are usually in contact with the sand, ie a wheel is rarely in the air
I have a front lockkarite in front off GQ patrol and is awsome in the sand and it DOES turn where i want it too go as i tow my campervan up too Double Iland all the time.
